University Innovation Fellows

June 2, 2020 - As a global movement, we recognize that no matter the country, there are people who face oppression, bigotry, and lack of basic freedoms, and there are people who have the privilege to take those freedoms for granted. In the US, this past week’s events have put a spotlight on long-standing injustices, and tensions have reached a boiling point. For decades the hidden premise of the education system has been that our young people have to wait until they graduate ...to be granted the permission to make a difference. We couldn’t disagree more. The power of students to change the world has always been at the core of our program. Now more than ever we remain committed to helping young people become change agents, able to face difficult, seemingly insurmountable problems with audacious optimism and compassion.
