Dear Union FC Parents and Coaches- As mentioned in our club-wide communications last week, we are providing information that will help those interested, in contacting our local and state officials and encouraging a return to play for youth sports. NorCal Premier and several other youth sports clubs authored this letter (https://drive.google.com//1YVYKNhCvxSHBUkiCFyAcMip_mA/view) to officials last week urging a safe return to play. ... This week Union FC is taking the added step, of issuing a Call-to-Action to help support these efforts to get youth sports back on the field competing. As many of you know, soccer tournaments and play is currently occurring in Nevada, Utah and Arizona, and several local teams have traveled to participate in those tournaments. Those tournaments have had specific protocols in place to ensure safer and responsible activity. Our hope and ask is that County and State officials to provide guidelines and directions so that teams can safely return to play in-state. But we need your help. Here's how you can take 5 minutes and make a difference for youth sports. Review the attached letter sent to officials by NorCal Premier: https://drive.google.com//1YVYKNhCvxSHBUkiCFyAcMip_mA/view; Click this link to suggested Email language that you cut/paste & personalize for sending to local/state officials: https://docs.google.com//1htgM3NcxaLgDBMZYg60xerc600/edit; Email the letter local and state elected officials and their staff listed below; Spread the word and post/share on your social media pages with the hashtag #ReturntoPlay; Thank you in advance for your support and action as we work toward clear guidelines from government officials, and a return to competitive play. Your help will make a difference. Who to email/contact: Sacramento County Board of Supervisors Susan Peters, 3rd District Email: [email protected] Chief of Staff Howard Schmidt Email: [email protected] Deputy Chief of Staff Vanessa McCarthy-Olmstead Email: [email protected] California State Assembly Ken Cooley, District 8 Email: [email protected] Chief of Staff: Jillena Hernandez Email: [email protected] District Director: Marianne Conarroe Email: [email protected] Governor's Office Gavin Newsom, Governor Email: https://govapps.gov.ca.gov/gov40mail/ Thank you again for your effort and commitment on behalf of these kids and youth sports. Tomorrow! Reminder! We have created a program that gives our players a chance to compete and develop soccer skills necessary to be productive on the field when we are given the green light to play games. We are calling this program Union Games. Union Games will run on Saturday morning for the months of September (starting 9/19 thru Oct) - for all age groups. Games will run for an hour and 15 minutes. We will have 3 sessions U9-U11, U12-U14, and U15-U19. Sessions will be ...held at Larchmont Community Park. We understand these are not games like on a normal weekend, but we still want to try to get things as close to normal and participating in some type of soccer activity can still create a habit of having competition on the weekend. Coaches will be at time slots for their team(s). U9-U11: 8:30am - 9:45am U12-U14: 10am - 11:15am U15-U19: 11:30am - 1pm The Games will consist of 6 games that help develop technique used during competition. Below you will find a link with Basic Rules of each game and a field layout of the games at Larchmont Community Park. https://drive.google.com//19VQZKkkABmresMpzFKJYDMuZH/view https://drive.google.com//1jC_TSUDsTdK1ikgha4CTyzwaC/view Soccer Golf - Larchmont Fields 1, 2, 3 Soccer Tennis - Larchmont Field 2 Soccer Croquet - Larchmont Field 1 Soccer Marbles - Larchmont Field 4 Shooting Range - In between Larchmont Fields 1 & 2 Shuffle Ball - Larchmont Field 3
