California is currently updating the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP). These standards are often the basis for many negotiated evaluation instruments used in California K-12 school districts. CTA’s Refresh Workgroup has provided a link to the Refreshed California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP) Feedback Opportunity Survey (surveymonkey.com) and encourages members to share their thoughts regarding an update to the CSTP standards.
I just watched Dr. Fausi's Fireside Chat with NEA members. You can watch the recorded version here: https://www.nea.org/resource-libra/fireside-chat-dr-fauci/ It runs about 30 minutes.
Here is the meeting with Dr. Jill Biden and Teachers.

Cautionary Tale - Vote Early! A friend of ours dropped her ballot in the drop box with us on Thursday. She received an email through Ballot Trax (https://calif...ornia.ballottrax.net/voter/) that her signature DID NOT MATCH her signature on file. She will be calling the Ventura County Elections Division tomorrow to find out how to make sure her ballot gets counted. It's a good thing she voted early so that she has the time to make sure her vote is counted! Sign up for Ballot Trax and VOTE NOW!

If it is Tuesday, Lauren Gill is shining a spotlight on another great teacher! This is a great picture of Mr. Moccia.
Clara Belle Drisdale Williams [1885-1993] was the first African-American graduate of New Mexico State University. Many of her professors would not allow her ins...ide the classroom, she had to take notes from the hallway; she was also not allowed to walk with her class to get her diploma. She married Jasper Williams in 1917; their three sons became physicians. She became a great teacher of black students by day, and by night she taught their parents, former slaves, home economics. In 1961, New Mexico State University named a street on its campus after Williams; in 2005 the building of the English department was renamed Clara Belle Williams Hall. In 1980 Williams was awarded an honorary doctorate of laws degree by NMSU, which also apologized for the treatment she was subjected to as a student. She died at 108 years old. See more
