Have you ever seen a Macadamia flower? Our Macadamia tetraphylla x integrifolia ‘Beaumont’ is blooming along the Ethnobotany Trail in our Australian garden! Many people think Macadamias originated in Hawaii, but they are actually native to Australia, and belong to the plant family Proteaceae. Aboriginal names for the delicious nut include jindilli and boombera. #ucscarboretum #publicgarden #ethnobotany #macadamia #australianplants
