For those looking for ways to help those who lost so much from the fire in Walker, here is a link to some fund raisers which go directly to the families. Thank you to everyone who has already donated. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1414812625518211/permalink/1415988705400603/
Thank you so much to everyone who donated today. Today, in less than 12 hours, we raised over $10k and got 100% of it directly in the hands of community members that need it the most. Thank you to each and every one of you who donated. And thank you to all of the fire fighters and community members who have helped so far during this tragedy. Many people are without homes and it will be a long road ahead, but with the help of the amazing people surrounding these mountain commu...nities, I know they will have the support they need. If anyone is in need of urgent help, please let us know. @meadowclifflodgekoa will be passing out clothes and other items on Friday that have been donated throughout the communities. We have extra gift cards with several community members in Walker that are available for those who need them for urgent necessities. @julianfamilyranch will be helping get hay out to the horses and other animals. Prayers for everyone affected by this horrible fire See more
Robert McClure from Fallbrook, CA had an amazing day fishing lower Twin. He caught a stringer full of trophy trout, including a 10pb 3oz Rainbow. These fish are part of our trophy stocking program and are stocked thanks to all of your support with donations to Twin Lakes Trout Foundation. Thanks for helping us build and maintain the fishery here at Lower Twin.

Fish report 10/17 Fishing is rough this year! A statement that falls on deaf ears. Especially when mentioned around the skilful anglers of the week. For example, take Brandon Curry from Crowley lake,Ca . Brandon was trolling a crystal minnow Yo-zuri down 5 colours of leadcore when he hooked into a 5lb rainbow . As if that wasn’t enough to convince you. Let’s take a look at Carlie Courtney from Corona,Ca. Carlie was fishing with a mice tail from shore when a 3lb 13oz rainbow... struck. The toad of the week was wrangled in by Gerry Imes of La Mirada ,Ca. Gerry was able to coerce the 6lb 5oz rainbow to bite his olive Woodley bugger from a boat. Those are just a few examples of the fish coming out. Lower Twin offers up numerous challenges for fishing. With 5.5 miles of shoreline and an average depth of 100’+ in conjunction with little to no incoming water. Fish are everywhere constantly moving. There’s still time to come and try your luck. Big rainbows are fun and all but let’s not forget what the twin lakes of Bridgeport are famous for. Big fall brown trout. This year we were able to stock 2400 fingerling brown trout. Big thank you to Misti Sullivan for getting us anglers more brown trout to lower twin. -Dion @gnarsavagefishing See more
Fishing in the Eastern Sierra continues through November 15th. There are some great waters to fish here in Bridgeport. Here are some of the waters open for fishing. Virginia Lakes, Twin Lakes, Robinson Creek and Buckeye Creek, Bridgeport Reservoir, East and West Walker River, Topaz Lake and tons of Alpine lakes offering rainbow trout, Brown Trout, Brook Trout & Golden Trout. The Humboldt-Toiyabe Forest and BML land are all open also so there are many adventures to be had. Our... campground and Marina will be open until 11/8, then we will have winter cabins rentals available. There are motels available in Bridgeport and surrounding areas year round also! After 11/15 some waters are open to special regulations, be sure to check DFW or with Kens Sporting Goods prior to fishing to understand these. Kens is also open Year round. We know it’s been a hard year for everyone, we appreciate all of the support that visitors have given to the Eastern Sierra this summer. We will be heat all year for you. Take advantage of that distance learning or working from home and come escape to Bridgeport. This fisherman’s paradise will soon turn into a winter wonderland. Snow shoeing, snow boarding/skiing, cross country skiing , sledding, building snowmen , drinking hot cocoa by a campfire, cutting down Christmas Trees We hope to see you soon! Main photo of Will with a beautiful Brown on the East Walker River. Stop in and see him at @growlerseatery See more
Fall Colors are all over the Eastern Sierra right now. Head on up and see them! We have lots of campsites available and there are some great motels available here in Bridgeport.
