Great news! The Highway is opening at 6pm today! HIGHWAY 1 IN MONTEREY COUNTY ALONG BIG SUR COAST TO FULLY OPEN AT 6 PM... MONTEREY COUNTY State Route 1 along the Big Sur Coast, which for the last four weeks has experienced closures due to the Dolan Fire, will be fully reopened at 6 pm today. The current highway closure, between Gorda and Lucia, will be lifted at that time. Travelers are advised to continue using caution and be aware of emergency vehicles in the area.

The Fernwood Grill is back open for business 1pm-10pm daily. Pretty new umbrellas and a delicious Hibiscus Margarita will make this upcoming hot Labor Day Weekend a breeze.

Due to the Dolan Fire, currently 10 miles south of us, we have disabled online reservations thru the end of September. Our air quality varies from good to unhealthy. Due to the nearby Dolan Ridge Fire that was started last night, we are not taking any new reservations. If you currently have a reservation, we are still open but there is a lot of smoke and ash here and Highway 1 is closed 15 miles south of us.
