Thunderhill Results The North Bay Bay Corvette Association put on a great event at Thunderhill, and we had a decent turnout though we were hoping to see more of you there. It was definitely a Corvette course - wide and fast, which gave our racers lots of options on how to find the fastest way around. Saturday, it was Jeremy McNeely who had the fastest time for TTC, finishing a scant 0.004 ahead of Troy Dewell (there were just a couple of Corvettes faster than these two guys... all weekend). Keith Smith crushed it in the CAM-T Camaro and earned the PAX win. Sunday, Troy managed to keep it off of the cones and scored a sweep, earning both Top Time and PAX in his DP Miata. Congrats to the winners! We are 1/2 way through the points season, race 7 of 12 is coming up July 18th. We hope you are planning to join us in the 2nd half of the year! Pre-Season Race #1 Results Thank-you to everyone who took time out of their weekend to join us at the track Sunday for some pre-season fun. We had a long course setup for seat time, and dry weather for two of the three run groups - run group 3 was a slippery mess, followed by some really soggy fun runs. It turned into a longer day than we expected, but we really appreciate the racers who stuck around and helped us pick up in the rain - you're the best! Andrew Barbitta was t...he fastest driver on Sunday, with a 90.11 second time in his STU classed WRX STI. PAX went to Blake DeWit in an HS Honda Accord, picking up where he left off last year in his Miata. At the top of their class were Blake for Street, Andrew for Touring, Tim Hasick for Prepared in a Dodge Viper, Brian Berry for Modified in the super sexy Focus SVT, and our fastest Novice was Tim Sammut in an Audi S4. You don't have to be a member to race with us, and all are experience levels are welcome. We are excited to offer a full schedule of autocross events this year! Come out and race with us! Saturday 01.23.2021... - Gates open at 4:00pm Saturday afternoon for track setup - please come by and help us out with setup if you can! The more folks, the quicker it goes! - Jeremy McNeely is our Competition Director and will be our track setup guide Sunday 01.24.2021 - Gates open at 7:30am for registration - Driver's Meeting at 9am under the cover, followed by run groups 1 & 2 - Lunch break - we are on our own for lunch - Driver's Meeting for late registrants, followed by run group 3 - Followed by Fun Runs for registered racers Entry fee is $32 for members and $37 for non-members paid online. This is a great time of the year to join the club as you will get $5 off the entry fee for all Shasta Speedway autocross races - make it to half of those, and your membership pays for itself! Plus you get a rad t-shirt at the beginning of our regular season in April, can compete for season trophies, and get the opportunity to help run our events.
