Choose to believe that you are capable of handling any problem placed in front of you. This belief has laid the foundation for our survival throughout quarantine and overall success as a business. Amidst the pandemic/shutdown, @laurenzerpa and I were forced to reflect, rethink and recalibrate what we wanted for our community moving forward. We also contemplated what our lives would become if we lost the gym for any reason. . .... . . Would we have to sell all of our equipment? Would I begin training our members at local parks, or rent out of multiple facilities and juggle multiple jobs again?! What would a genuine, compassionate leader do in a situation like this? . . . . Self regulating isn’t necessarily easy for a small business owner to accomplish, especially in times of high stress. Developing the ability to take a step back. To focus. To feel all of the feelings that came during a time of scarcity, and honor those emotions as they came and left. Considering all our options. Weighing the pros and cons. Honest dialogue with one another, as well as continued dialogue with our fitness community. Leaders that make others feel they have been through the problem-solving process numerous times before are those who approach the matter at hand with a sense of elegance and grace. They are patient and active listeners, and they will genuinely take a compassionate approach to ease the hardships that anyone else is experiencing. Delicately balancing the pain and trauma everyone is experiencing with optimism and hope for a better tomorrow. Composure is not about ego. It is about humility and a willingness to learn. When you’re composed enough to take responsibility for your outcomes, this will inspire in others the willingness to accept responsibility for the outcomes in their lives. Here’s to being in business for two years, with this month marking the beginning of our third year in HB as @tribestrength. Here’s to surviving the pandemic. #TribeStrength #Reopened #BackInBusiness #Blessed @ Tribe Strength

Sleep is often one of the first things to go when we feel pressed for productivity. Many view sleep as a luxury and believe the benefits of limiting the hours they spend asleep outweigh the costs. People often overlook the potential long-term health consequences of insufficient sleep, and the impact that health problems can ultimately have on one's time and overall performance. Many of the costs of poor sleep go unnoticed. Medical conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, and... cardiovascular disease, develop over long periods of time and result from a number of factors, such as genetics, poor nutrition, and lack of exercise. Insufficient sleep has also been linked to these and other health problems, and is considered an important risk factor. Although scientists have just begun to identify the connections between insufficient sleep and disease, most experts have concluded that getting enough high-quality sleep may be as important to health and well-being as nutrition and exercise. A major part of career success is doing the consistent, boring, tedious things that no one else wants to do. Funny thing is, it’s often the same with exercise and diet. Mastering the mundane, the key is consistency. What boring things do you do often to keep making progress towards your goals or current priorities?

Often when we think about what makes someone attractive we tend to think about their personality, character, physical appearance, style and social standing. But the one trait that rarely if ever gets mentioned is DISCIPLINE, and how discipline attracts us to others. The discipline to create and maintain a fit, healthy and toned body is attractive to some. The discipline to make smart choices with money and in life is attractive to others. The discipline to do what needs... to be done no matter how bad or tough the situation might be, and the discipline to see things through to the end is attractive to many. Someone with the discipline to be consistent, dedicated and committed is always attractive and it has nothing to do with what car they drive, what dress they have on, their hair style or how much money they have in the bank. You don't need to be healthy to be disciplined but you do need to be disciplined to be healthy!! . . . . We first met @chuyphoto at a coffee shop for an initial talk-through to decide whether we’d be the right fit for one another. Lauren had come across his work on Instagram, and immediately fell in love with his aesthetic and the rawness of his craft. In those first few hours of connecting and getting to know one another, it was evident that Chuy was destined to be our wedding photographer and lifelong friend. Couples photography is about capturing the human experience in a ...photo. And if people don't trust you, they won't be natural. During our engagement shoot, Chuy somehow convinced us to strip down, get into a bathtub and spark up a cigar together. Rather than trying to create ‘the perfect photo’, we enjoyed the genuine experience of connecting. We recognized that he was someone willing to do things differently, chasing the non-traditional route and brave enough to break a few rules. We drooled over his portfolio and hoped that we’d get something even half as good as the other weddings!! We weren’t disappointed at all...the shots we got back were beyond belief. I’m actually convinced Chuy may have 5 or 6 identical brothers, as I don’t know how one person is able to capture so much detail in such a short amount of time. He used every lighting opportunity he could find to capture a range of photos, and was constantly on the lookout to use the scenery and grounds of the venue to the fullest. His passion and enthusiasm to capture every moment shone all throughout, and he absolutely blew us away with his talent. As if that weren’t enough, we had the blessing of having Chuy visit our facility a few months after our wedding for another ‘steamy shoot’. Lauren will attest that I loathe posed photos, and am not comfortable in front of the camera. We are forever grateful for his ability to put our anxiety and insecurities to rest, allowing us to relax and enjoy the process fully. Fast forward to two years in business as a private training studio. It is an honor to use these photos to help market our business, as well as sharing the heart and soul of Tribe Strength with our community: our love for one another, and the belief that anyone can grow stronger. @ Huntington Beach, California See more

Excessive sleepiness affects our physical health, and has an even larger impact on our mental health. When we don't get the 7-9 hours of quality sleep we need, it can heavily influence our outlook on life, energy levels, motivation and emotions. If you're feeling low, you may not realize that lack of sleep is the culprit. But even small levels of sleep deprivation over time can chip away at your happiness. You might see that you're less enthusiastic, more irritable, or eve...n have some of the symptoms of clinical depression, such as feeling persistently sad or empty. All these alterations to your mood can affect not only your individual mental health, but your relationships and family dynamics as well. . . . . "Anxiety is a thin stream of fear trickling through the mind. If encouraged, it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained." In fact, the largest part of what we call ‘personality’ is determined by how we’ve opted to defend ourselves against anxiety, stress and pain. Nothing diminishes anxiety faster than action. And sometimes the most proactive thing we can do, is rest. #TribeStrength #Rest #Refresh #Renew See more

I know this response may sound blunt, but I’d rather be hated for a minute and loved for a lifetime because I told the truth. And what I said is the truth. If you want to end the vicious cycle of losing and gaining the same 10-20lbs over and over again, it’s going to take more than a quick tip. It’s going to take reprogramming the mindset that keeps searching for quick tips in the first place.... . . . . If you’ve been struggling with losing body fat for years or decades, then you have habits that will need to be broken and replaced. That’s a long, difficult journey. But it CAN be done. And you CAN be successful. But the first step is ending bad habits like asking for quick tips over social media. And starting a new habit of learning sustainable behavior change. You can create the body and life you desire. It’s simply going to take more than a quick tip. #TribeStrength #Results #ResultsBasedTraining #Commit #Habit

Development is difficult. We can provide you with all of the expertise, guidance, accountability, and support in the world...but if you’re not ready for change, it won’t make a difference. Change is complicated, it involves complex psychological and emotional components, environmental factors, self-awareness, etc. Most people view change as a switch: flip the switch, make the choice, and boom, you’re on your way. But we know that to be the exception. Not the rule.... For most, change falls on a spectrum. Think of it as a dimmer on your light switch. Rather than only have two positions (off and on) there are various levels through which the light passes in order to reach those positions. In regards to change, the levels are the progression of the habits and behaviors necessary to reach the final destination (i.e. the on position). However, before the process can even begin, before you can truly embrace new habits and behaviors, adopt a new lifestyle, or benefit from the expertise, guidance, and accountability of a coach...you need to be ready for change. . . . . If you're ready, leave a comment, shoot us a DM, or send us an email. We want to get to know you, better understand your goals, and help you pursue a more active, balanced life. #TribeStrength #Change #Choice #BlameItOnUs See more

Huge shoutout to each and every individual supporting us by purchasing Tribe Strength apparel. We deeply miss seeing our active members during this challenging time. As a small, brick and mortar training studio that relies on foot traffic to keep things running smoothly we greatly appreciate your support online. Every single customer matters when you’re a small business. The spread of the global pandemic has undoubtedly affected the economy. We cannot stop this, yet we can... make a choice with our dollars to help local economies stay afloat and give small businesses a fighting chance to rebound when we emerge from our homes. @hannouellette @bricksroo #TribeStrength #Apparel #SmallBusiness #Community #ThankYou See more

While we still do not have word when fitness centers, no matter the size will be allowed to open, @tribestrength is prepared and confident we will be able to abide by whatever guidelines the California Department Of Health sets forth. We have the capability to: Limit the amount of members training at a time. Sanitize equipment between sessions.... Ask members to stay home if experiencing any cold/flu-like symptoms. Staff monitoring the adherence of these guidelines. These are NOT set in stone guidelines but these are, along with others, what private training facilities can adhere to. While the environment we will come back to will be different, we are very excited to receive word of allowed opening. And we are ready to continue to stop the spread, while resuming training which will only help us get through the uneasy times we all find ourselves in. . . . . Oh...and on a separate note. We wanted to express our deepest gratitude for the help of Juan and Mary (@juanbuildlion) in acquiring and mounting these beautiful mirrors!! Not only does the facility feel larger and more spacious, but now we'll have the ability to troubleshoot biomechanics/technique issues right away thanks to the direct feedback from seeing our reflection. We have one more idea planned to accomplish prior to opening back up, can't wait to share with you all. #TribeStrength #Renovations #Quarantings #Blessed @ Tribe Strength See more

One of the most difficult things to do in this life, is to simply trust. Not just other people, or even ourselves, though those things can be difficult too. But to trust in the outcome and what those circumstances mean for us. The arrival of each and every season we have to endure, truly exists for us, and only us....uniquely. And we know that because we're literally the only one that gets to exist in it, and experience it fully. No one can experience those seasons, and t...hose valleys, and those dark waters except us. No one else can genuinely feel our grief or sense of loss. You're literally the only person that can truly weigh your own sorrow. But mindful introspection will reveal that up until this point, you've got a 100% success rate at overcoming every obstacle that this life has put in front of you. And in that same sense of mindful introspection that those obstacles, in hindsight, were always bigger and loomed larger in our minds than what they were when they were in front of us. . . . . There's immense purpose behind having to endure every season, just like there was in all the seasons past. The strength isn't in the endurance. The strength lies in trusting that the season or valley exits as an opportunity for the betterment of ourselves as a more understanding, compassionate, empathetic, loving, and complete human being. As we entered week five of isolation/social distancing within our Westminster apartment, things were beginning to get uncomfortable. Life is being (justifiably) constrained. Our new normal is a massive constriction of daily routines and a contraction of social interaction, freedom of movement, and space. We could feel ourselves becoming itchy within the walls... ...and this is where we found that silver lining. #CreativityAmidstCrisis #TribeStrength @ Tribe Strength

The current pandemic we're all experiencing has claimed lives, disrupted economies, and changed daily existence as we know it. It has also shown us how strong we can be, and how creative, even in isolation. It can feel easy to fall into despair. However, as vital as it is to act with vigorous responsibility for the good of everyone, it’s equally important to search out the silver linings for our own sanity and mental wellbeing. #CreativityAmidstCrisis #SilverLining #TribeStrength
