Torrance Corps activities during this Holy Week. We hope to see you at our Good Friday Service (@Stillman Sawyer) and on Easter Sunday!

We are sure everyone is painfully aware of the tragic events in Parkland, Florida with the most recent school shooting. As a church, we have been and continue to be in prayer for the youth affected, the families that lost loved ones, the community affected, and for all students and personnel who are a little more uneasy about going to school as each of these tragedies occur. As parents and youth leaders, our hearts are heavy with questions: What do I tell my kids? Do I need... to tell them anything? How can I reassure those that I minister to weekly and love daily? The article attached was shared with us this last week, and while it was written in response to the Charleston church shooting last year, the talking points and tips to address tragedy with kids remain. May it be helpful and reassuring to know you're not in this world of parenting and raising your children alone. If there are further questions or concerns that we may be of help with, it is the our prayer that you feel confident and comfortable to tag us in to partner with you to find answers and continue to show love to our children!

The Torrance troops took on the challenge to explore the culture of a local Native American tribe - the Chumash- as they earned their Native American Lore emblems today at the Southern California SAY Rally. We learned the importance of fishing, tried leather lacing and basket weaving, jumped into story telling, made pictographs and then explored a replica village! Thank you to parents and many volunteers that made this day & every week with these kids happen! Keep exploring kids!

The Troops Lot Sale was awesome!

It's almost here! Tomorrow is the Troops Lot Sale!! Lots of great stuff has come in (even brand new), so don't forget to pop by, shop, and support this great ministry. We will be taking donations as well. If your child is a part of the troops program, don't forget to check your emails for their volunteer shift.
