I have found that God may appear silent during a test, but if you listen with the inner ear, this silence speaks very loudly. It is our own voices sometimes we hear so strongly, and these voices can stand between us and our ability to connect with God. A teacher is not there to just give the answer to the student. They are there to guide the student to the solution. In school if someone is taking a test, they have been taught something before about the subject of the test. Th...en there is that point when they are questioned about what they have learned and if they can give the correct answer, they are promoted to the next class. Our spiritual evolution works in a similar manner. We are given teachings that prepare us for knowing how to meet and overcome challenges. If we have made ourselves familiar enough with the Divine teachings and have allowed the teachings to open parts of us, especially our hearts, then we have the tools necessary to deal with the situation. God is silent only in the sense that He has already provided the answer. Now He wants to see if we have truly absorbed the teaching. What this means to me is that God is always there teaching us, and is silent in the sense that He wants to see how we act with the knowledge we have been given previously. So ask yourself if you are just reading a teaching or are you applying this teaching in your life. If you have, maybe God is not as silent as you think. Maybe God has a smile that speaks loudly to those that can feel it and hear it Approval , silent or spoken, of a parent can powerfully affect a child. As can disapproval. I saw a short story today when I opened my emails that I really liked and wanted to share. A teacher aked his class to write an essay with the subject line...If I were a millionaire. As he walked around the class he noticed one girl just sitting back in her chair with her arms folded, so he asked her what she was doing. Her reponse was "I'm waiting for my secretary." He gave her a 10 out of 10.
