Toastmaster Daniel designated Variety as the theme with deviant the day’s word. Deviant seem to fit as people dressed strangely and sat in different places than the usual. Speeches were about cooking, toothbrushing, speaking and being curious instead of avoiding. Winners shown below are Best TT - Sherri, BS - Michele, BE - Lisa and Daniel. Gary on Horseback was in a pickle but Amen made the horse stop.....for a moment! Let’s note the following as good examples to emulate in... your own style! Sherri for an excellent merging of facial and body gestures that are natural and that enhance what she is saying. Everyone can hear her because she projects to the back of the room. She engaged with a beginning question of, How many of us are cooks? Michele almost always speaks to a purpose and she validates sincerity. She makes us think and usually shares something with us that would be useful in our own lives. She encouraged to be curious about those we tend to avoid. They might have the most to offer. Greg had his best speech ever. He coordinated an effective message about his journey from comfort to confidence with his speaking. His performance bore him out. Eye contact, body language, sincerity....all was in sync. Carrie showed that multiple presentations about the same general subject can still be fresh and engaging. I can’t wait to brush my teeth tonight! Melissa, Lee Szymczak, Brian and Lisa showed everyone just how evaluations are done. Humor went to Gary, spark plug to Daniel and the light of inspiration to Sherri. Four super speeches and four terrific evaluations were completed, finishing pretty much on time. That is not easily done. Way to go everyone! CDub
