In case you haven’t returned your ballot or voted early, here’s your reminder to make a plan to vote! Aren’t registered? California allows same day registration! Forgot to mail back your ballot? Turn it in to a ballot collection box or polling center tomorrow! Every vote and every voice counts!

Early childhoood education has always helped children be curious about what makes us different, learn what makes us the same and reflect on what makes each of them special. The Learning Garden will always be a space where your children can grow with a foundation of respect, love and kindness. Curious Parenting is a great resource to bring those practices home especially to your libraries and toy boxes. We suggest developmentally appropriate books like Sesame Street We're Different, We're the Same, Ten Little Fingers, Ten Little Toes by Mem Fox, classics like Corduroy by Don Freeman and The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats and new classics like Saturday by Oge Mora. Does your little one have a favorite preschool aged book or toy you'd like to add to our list?

Safer at Home? Not if you step on a Lego! Ms. Jessica is here to help teach your little ones to put away toys when they're done. Use a blanket to designate a toy area, that way feet can safely navigate the room without the pain of stepping on forgotten toys

Los Angeles County's face covering / mask requirement for essential services began today. Our hope is that this additional barrier will further slow community spread of the COVID-19 virus. Wondering how best to protect your family? This article provides helpful guidance for parents about kids and face masks. Remember: face coverings are NOT appropriate for children under 2, and can be difficult to manage for children under 5. The most effective tools for prevention are to wash our hands frequently, avoid touching our eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, stay home if sick and practicing 6 ft of distancing in public. Face covering is another step we all can take as a community to protect each other and ourselves from COVID-19.

The Learning Garden remains open to serve families in essential services. We thank all who continue to provide essential services on the frontlines and our staff for continuing to provide a clean, safe and joyful space for the families that depend on us. We sincerely appreciate the families that are following the shelter in place orders. Thank you for your support as we follow the evolving response to the pandemic, together we will get through this crisis. The Learning Garde...n continues to take all the necessary steps to mitigate the spread of the virus including hand washing, social distancing, regularly disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, and wearing of masks to protect both the students and staff from possible transmission. We have included temporary changes to our business hours, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, and following a maximum capacity of 10 per group to better maintain distance and our high standards of sanitization. These are uncertain times, but we hope The Learning Garden will be a constant you can depend on. We look forward to welcoming all of our families back when the mandatory shelter in place order is lifted. See more
