Today, Nathan McAnally, is beginning basic training with the United States Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Raised at Trinity Church and Schools, he joins an impressive group of those who served. Godspeed, Nathan! Who else with ties to Trinity has served in our armed forces? #tlc75 #serve

Reformation Sunday - October 25, 2020 Rooted in the past and growing into the future, the church must always be reformed in order to live out the love of Christ in an ever-changing world. We celebrate the good news of God’s grace, that Jesus Christ sets us free every day to do this life-transforming work. Trusting in the freedom given to us in baptism, we pray for the church, that Christians will unite more fully in worship and mission. Scripture Readings: Jeremiah 31:31-34, ...Continue reading

Dear Trinity Community and friends, In your head and heart, when you hear that together we are "building a spiritual home for all," what do you see? Over 500 years ago this week, a ragtag band of Jesus followers wanted to re-form their spiritual home. Led by Martin Luther, they asked some big questions about what it means to be church today. A few years ago, a similar process connected to the Reformation was done here at Trinity and during the call process, again, it was ask...ed, Who is God calling us to be for the sake of Hawthorne, the South Bay and the world? We are part of a faith family that refuses, literally protests ("protestants"), to put any conditions on God's love and grace as seen in the crucified and risen Jesus. There is never a, "Yes, Jesus...AND...(you must do this). Christ alone! For you and me! Well, so what? The "so what" is when we love our neighbor as ourselves. Luther repeatedly said that God does not need your help, time or money, but your neighbor does. Our experience of amazing grace is shown in how we love others! I saw you love others when you helped the school serve coffee this past Wednesday to tired families; I saw you love others when you email a staff member and just say, I'm praying for you. I saw you love others when serve on a board or simply listen to a coworker who is bone tired from COVID. In your head and heart, when you hear that together we are "building a spiritual home for all," what do you see? Reformers of Trinity! It's time to speak up again! Email me your dream. We invite you to join us in person at our outdoor worship service on Sunday at 10 AM on the patio or if you are not ready to come back to in person worship at this time we will still have our online services available each week. I am proud to serve as your pastor. Pastor Kevin (310) 675-4493 x108 [email protected]

Together Again: Welcome Back to Worship After over 6 months apart, it’s so exciting to announce that we will be worshiping together in the patio area between the sanctuary and the AMC this Sunday, October 25 at 10:00 AM. Your safety is our first priority! We are taking all necessary precautions to ensure your health and safety as we reopen our building for worship. This means things will look a little different at the Sunday morning services.... Please check symptoms on Sunday morning prior to coming and please stay home if you have any symptoms at all. All attendees will need to check in where they will be asked verbally about any symptoms, and temperatures will be taken. All will need to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth. Please practice social distancing. We know fellowship is an important aspect of living our daily lives for Christ but be mindful of the social distancing protocol’s. Several elements of our Sunday morning worship service will be that families will be sat together by ushers. Please allow time for them as they seat you to move some chairs together based on your family size. Families will be spaced throughout the area to allow for the social distancing spacing. We will also be doing communion at the Sunday morning services with safe protocols in place. We will still provide a recording of our worship service on our YouTube Channel just as we have been for those who do not feel comfortable yet in returning to in person worship. Please feel free to continue participating in worship in that way if you feel that is the healthier option for you. Be sure to check your email and social media weekly for any updates on our in-person worship as we may need to adjust and make changes for safety quickly.
