Let’s recap from yesterday’s project. The goal was to get rid of the traditional looking highlighting that makes the color have harsh stripes and hopefully get to light beige tones & a fresh cut to shape up her layers but hold on to as much length as possible. This was our first session together and the first time meeting so we had a in depth consultation before we began and right away I seen that her ends were darker and that will be a issue. She used a dark box dye ...years back but unless it is cut off it always lives in the hair until it is CUT off. I did a full lightning using more of a #foilayage technique to blend out those stripes and get more lightness, then I tipped out all those ends to try to nudge them as light as we can get them in one sitting while keeping her hair healthy! In the end we didn’t get as light as we wanted due to her stubborn ends, but her hair is healthy and blended. We will be doing another session in about 12 weeks. During this time she is going to be using her at home care we spoke about and try to only Blowdry and stay away from hott tool styling. Doing so will help us prepare for session 2 which is alway my favorite because it’s the session that really breaks through and gives the client a closer version to what they want.
