Dear CSDA Families, Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2, 2020, the dance community is uniting together in a Dance Industry Blackout in support of the BLM movement and the impact the Black community has had on the dance industry. Honoring our role and responsibility as dance educators, students, and professionals, CSDA is choosing to suspend all classes for tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2. Classes will resume on Wednesday, June 3 as normal. Everyday, we celebrate the diversity of our facu...lty and students and pride ourselves in facilitating a safe space to grow through art and expression. Tomorrow, we unite with our fellow artists to peacefully protest the injustices being experienced around the nation. We are taking this day to listen to the stories of the Black community, educate ourselves and our loved ones, and emphasizing the impact we have as a united front. We want our dancers to know that, though young, they are powerful, they are loved, they are supported, and that they can make change. We are attaching some helpful resources, and want to express that we are here for all of our dancers. We pray for the safety of our students, families, and faculty. We pray for law enforcement and their safety, bravery, and integrity. We pray for the equality and justice for all, especially our Black brothers and sisters. And we pray for our art and our voices to do what is right. Our Novice competitors had an amazing year and finished the season stronger than ever! They’ve grown so much after only a year of competing and we cannot wait to see what next season brings for them! Congratulations dancers!

What a blast it was cheering on our CSDA dancers as they virtually took the stage on the @dancekar New York City! It was amazing to watch all of our soloists shining, even from a distance. Special shout out to these soloists for receiving overall placement and scholarship awards! We love and miss you CSDA!
