ICYMI: Last week, TICAS research and policy experts were joined by students to discuss the impact of the pandemic on California college students, and priorities for ensuring students have the supports they need to achieve their #highered goals. Those priorities include strengthening and reforming the Cal Grant program most immediately by (1) removing age and time out of high school barriers to entitlement Cal Grants and (2) increasing support for key non-tuitions costs through the Cal Grant access award. These investments would support the state’s most under-resourced students, including older students and students of color, on their paths to earning a higher education credential.
