Thien Long's Banh Xeo (Banh=cake; Xeo=sizzling) is a savory, Vietnamese pancake that is light & tasty. You can order it as an appetizer or even an entree. The batter is made of rice flour, water, turmeric powder, coconut milk, heavy cream, mung bean, and green onions. The filling is simply pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts. It is served with a bed of lettuce, mint leaves, cucumbers, and a side of nuoc cham (vietnamese dipping fish sauce). If you've had this dish several times before, try ordering it with a side of banh trang (rice paper), and wrap it up like a spring roll!
