Meet our newly-promoted Resident Care Coordinator and new dad, Joey Fernandez! Joey began working at The Watermark by the Bay eight years ago as a care partner for The Gardens, our memory care community. He quickly earned his Certified Dementia Practitioner certificate and soon thereafter, he was promoted to Lead Naya. Nayas are highly engaged, specialized care partners that are able to address physical, cognitive and emotional effects of dementia. Recently, Joey has again be...en recognized for his dedication and stellar accomplishments, and was promoted to his new, shiny position at The Watermark. Joey says that his very favorite part about working here is that he truly loves engaging with our residents and finding those deeper connections to be the most rewarding. We've been celebrating with a By the Bay (door to door) Health Fair, spending time learning about everything from meditation to the benefits of gardening for healthy minds and bodies! Pictured here are seedling kits that went to participating residents and "kindness rocks" to be painted and shared in the community garden. Also pictured is our very first seedling from Josephine, who lovingly tended to her seed.
