We wondered why no one was talking about Mitrice, why the news coverage was nil, why no one cared or was enraged that this young woman went missing and was forgotten. So Noah went into his studio to explore these feelings of frustration. He painted an image of a faceless woman upon the backdrop of the Malibu coastline and named it for her, Mitrice Richardson. He sealed her story in time with his paintbrush and canvas. @karondavis on #MitriceRichardson and #BreonnaTaylor for @voguemagazine’s 14 Black Artists on Life Right Now in America. #UMVOICES: This time of stillness has given me so much tranquility. I have been given the chance to master the art of self-care and self-love. I have found my passion, and deep connection with mother nature’s beauty. I surround myself around shades of green, and feel peace within myself. Finding ways to display plants within my space is art. @callmecourt social distancing in her Noah Davis long sleeve.

Noah Davis depicted the black body in scenes that blend the everyday with the fantastical. Black Wall Street shows a moment of stillness before and after unseen violent acts, evidenced by the lifeless body on the ground and the bomblike object falling from the sky. The title refers to the town of Greenwood, a once-prosperous African-American neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma, that was known as the Black Wall Street. In 1921 a white mob burned Greenwood to the ground in what is sometimes referred to as the Tulsa Race Riot or the Tulsa Massacre. - @studiomuseum Noah Davis Black Wall Street (2008)

#NOAHSBOOKSHELF: @theundergroundbookstore IS LIVE NOW!!! Noah was a bibliophile. He worked in bookstores and collected books. He’s the son of an educator and knew the power of words. Our bookstore started from Noah’s personal collection. He was constantly sharing and giving books to our community, understanding the lack of access to inspiring stories and information. Our mission is to share knowledge with our community. ... We’re now bringing our bookstore experience to you, wherever you are. Together, let’s build a world. We see books as a source of comfort during this time of isolation and we’re keeping our bond with you STRONG. Join us. - @karondavis, Co-founder of The Underground Museum
