The Hawaii Koa Forest, located north of Hilo, is an incredible opportunity to protect over 13,000 acres that will enhance opportunities for public recreation, hunting, hiking, cultural access, and education. Not to mention the 61 miles of streams and countless waterfalls that cascade for 4 miles and ultimately connect to the ocean, providing fresh water for people, agriculture, and the marine environment, as well as scenic views enjoyed by residents and visitors. These grants will help protect these essential habitats. Learn more:
Next week, the House of Representatives will be in session for the last time this year. This leaves us with very little time to get two essential bills passed to protect Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments before Congress adjourns. Urge your Representative to pass the Bears Ears Expansion and Respect for Sovereignty Act and the Antiquities Act today! https://secure.tpl.org/site/Advocacy

Our work to create great public spaces is rooted in a belief that every person deserves an equal say in the future of their community. For almost 50 years, we’ve been bringing diverse people and perspectives together to make shared decisions about their local parks, trails, schoolyards, and open spacesand lasting transformation takes root. That’s why it's never been more important to exercise your right to voteand to make sure that every vote counts. For information on voting, visit: www.vote.org
