When we say the Holidays are happening at the Pier, we're not kidding! Our Windows of Wonderment with @bobbakermarionettes are coming to life next week in a fantasy of color and FUN and we can't wait for you to visit! The installation will be free, open to the public and only viewed from outside (so it's totally safe) from 11/25 - 1/7.

BIG NEWS: The holidays are most certainly happening in Santa Monica, and this year the Pier will be full of marionette magic! We can't wait to welcome another LA icon, @bobbakermarionettes and their precocious puppets to our merry-go-round windows for a one-of-a-kind art installation and retrospective. The puppets are hitting the road and setting up shop in our monument of merriment (or shall we say, merry-go-round-ment) and will come to life as the Windows of Wonderment! 11/25 - 1/7 and FREE.
For 35 years, the Twilight concert series has been the ultimate outdoor music experience and one of our most iconic events of the year. Since we can't host the 36th year IRL in 2020, we'll instead relive the incredible memories from home... with shoppable concert art! All of our series posters are now FOR SALE so you can get in on the Twilight fun and ensure the future of the series. Shop @ https://www.santamonicapier.org/store Have a favorite Twilight memory? The Pier has always been a place of resiliency and strength - and a symbol of fun for all! In our long history we've seen rusting and destruction of the support structure (1910's), the Great Depression that left the Pier nearly dilapidated (1920's), a grassroots uprising to save the Pier from becoming a 4-lane bridge (1960's), a (small) fire next to the historic merry go-round (1970's), storms and earthquakes (1980's & 1990's), and now the pandemic of 2020. With each setback, we've also seen reconstruction, restoration and re-imagination of our beloved Pier - putting us on a new path forward. We're adapting today to ensure the Pier is resilient for tomorrow. Come visit, support our businesses & wear a mask! #PierTodayPierTomorrow
Over our 110 year history we’ve had our fun times, hard times and crazy times and chill times. We’ve seen it all & have always found a new way forward. The challenges we face today mark the start of a new Pier experience that is safe FUN for ALL! Come down to the Pier (10am-8pm) and support our local businesses and enjoy an afternoon by the beach! Don't forget your mask. #PierTodayPierTomorrow
It’s 71 in SaMo today! Come cool off and grab a bite to eat. Our restaurants are open for outdoor dining and to-go orders! Don’t forget your mask!
@thealbright is a quintessential seafood spot, serving up the best shrimp tacos, lobster rolls and clam chowder this side of the 405. They've been on the Pier for 43 years and are all about family. A family-run restaurant that treats staff like family too, even throughout the COVID closure. Owner Greg Morena and his family remember the storms of '83 and how resilient the Pier family was in surviving that; and he knows that we'll get through this time too. Come down to enjoy happy hour and support our local business owners. #PierTodayPierTomorrow
Paddle outs are a time-honored tradition that honor the memory and celebrate the life of someone who's recently died. We went live today with http://instagram.com/blackgirlssurf for a worldwide paddle out to honor George Floyd's memory and support #BlackLivesMatter. When we come together, powerful things can happen. Today's paddle out sends a message that unity is the only way to make real change. It's a reminder of how far we've come and how much more work there still is to do.
We’re not just excited about Pier businesses reopening - we’re excited to welcome new ones, too! Now you can grab a frothy frap or a tasty tea from @starbucks before strolling the Pier or visiting the Beach. Check out the new @starbucks on Ocean Front Walk! #piertodaypiertomorrow
In our 110 years, the Pier has been through a lot, from storms to civic unrest, and each of those pivotal moments have helped us chart a new path forward. In this moment, we know that it’ll be no different. As we adapt and find new ways to stand strong for SoCal and the world at large, we’ll be sharing stories of hope, fun times and perseverance at the Pier under the message Pier Today, Pier Tomorrow. Follow along as we chart a new course and let this be a reminder for you (as it is for us) that the Pier will always be a welcoming place for all to celebrate. #PierTodayPierTomorrow
The Pier is now open, but with limited capacity and new health and safety guidelines. Scroll to learn more, and visit our website for all the details!
