In the 1955 Film Noir, Kiss Me Deadly, the main character Mike Hammer, portrayed by actor Ralph Meeker, is brought to the Hollywood Athletic Club in pursuit of a clue.

The Hollywood Athletic Club was built in 1924 by Meyer & Holler, the architects who also built Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Egyptian Theatre. The Club was the tallest building in Hollywood at its time.
