We cannot believe 2020 is almost over. What a year we have all had. With 2021 just around the corner, what lessons or jewels of wisdom have you take from 2020 that you can bring into 2021 to help you manage whatever is in store for the New Year? How we view our circumstances greatly impact how we feel about them. May this New Year be a year of more growth, love and peace.

We are going into month 6 of quarantine related to COVID19. Mental health crisis appears to be on the rise with the onset of more depression, anxiety, fear, PTSD, and family related violence, just to name a few. Instead of boring you with more stats on how COVID19 has impacted us negatively, we were wondering how you are making it work? What coping tools, strategies and advice would you give your follow human. We believe you do not have to have a degree to be able to gi...ve advice and sometimes the advice that comes from another person who is living it, is more impactful. Join The Practice Counseling Services as we work hard to spread words of encouragement, inspiration, hope, love, and connection. We are all in this together and together will be grow. Feel free to share this to your page and see the advice, connection and support grow. Remember we are stronger together AND together we can get through anything.

As therapists, we follow NASW Code of Ethics which dictates that we seek social justice and stand for what is right. We will be here to support, empathize and challenge all who want to be change agents. Start by examining yourself. Do you say some of these statements, even in your head? Ask yourself why these make you uncomfortable. We are here to have the difficult conversations.

During a time in our Nation where we are faced with many questions and uncertainties, Mr. David Kessler helps us to understand why we may feel the way we do. He relates our feelings to grief; as we experience changes in our lives from what knew our lives to be and coupled with the uncertainties of what the future holds for us as a whole. We must have compassion for ourselves as well as other because we all grieve differently and heal differently. https://hbr.org/20//that-discomfort-youre-feeling-is-grief

From the Neuropsychology and Education for Children and Adolescent. Routine and Structure help our children with their feelings. Remember to be patient, inclusive and empathetic of how our children may react. Acting out happens because of fear, confusion and other unmet needs. Take time to talk and adjust but try to encourage some routine.

The Filipino Culture is as beautiful as it is complex. The language of love we have used to convey are affection to each other, to our elders and our children... can be a source of great satisfaction but sadly, can also bring a lot confusion, even tension and pain with our loved ones. There are many ways we communicate so differently even when we seemingly use the same language at home- English. I wrote this EBook because even though I know that most Filipinos are bi-lingual, many of us are mono-lingual in the ways we interpret & receive our love. May you find some answers & insight in this FREE Ebook. Link in the bio. Happy new year, Friends! Salamat for your follow.
