Everybody gets it wrong sometimes!

Major changes have come about in DUI laws since January 1. If you are charged with DUI in California starting in 2019, your options have change a great deal. New rules have been enacted to protect public safety wile also allow you to keep your license. Never try to face a DUI charge on your own. You don’t get treated better by the courts or by the prosecutor without a lawyer, and there isn’t a stigma for having representation. But it IS important that you hire a quality lawyer who knows DUI law specifically.

Gee, you don't say. Here's one of a thousand reasons defense attorneys are crucial. When the cops themselves are bugging private, privileged conversations that they know are off limits, what else do you think they might be up to? Most law enforcement people seem like good folks, but a lot of them get very frustrated with things like "suspects’ rights". And some of them fall victim to temptation to do dishonest and dishonorable things like this. At least the DA is filing charg...es. We'll see how far that goes. Also, I'm glad the article also mentions other Alameda County deputies who were running Sons of Anarchy style bloodsport attacks on inmates by other inmates, others arranging to have inmates throw feces at other inmates, and yet others permantnetly disabling a guy after gang breating him in an alleyway then strealing his jewelry for use bribing witnesses. And they weren't bribing witnesses because they felt justified beating the guy in their heart of hearts.
