Cempasúchil Bright orange flowers that help guide spirits to the world of the living. Comes from the Nàhuatl word Cempohualxochitl... which means twenty flowers or various flowers. Pan de muerto A circular-shaped bread meant to symbolize the circle of life, as well as the top of skull. The four strips on top represent bones, tears shed for our loved ones, and the four cardinal directions. Sarape Fabric A style of fabric that has its origins in Mesoamerican culture, but became incredibly popluar in the era of struggle for Mexican independence, becoming a symbol of unity amongst revolutionaries. Sugar Skulls A substitute to human skulls that were previously used by Indigenous communities to honor their passed loved ones. We're all about the loaded carne asada baked potato and burrito birria from the Taste of México food stand at The San Jose Flea Market! Menudo is back at The San Jose Flea Market! One of our most frequently asked questions has been about the availability of menudo, which was once a go-to staple for mornings at The Flea. Anyway, it's back (it has actually lowkey been back for a few weeks)! You can grab a bowl at the Chuck Wagon Booth on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 10 am (and available all day). You can also grab a bowl at the Big Beef Booth on Sundays starting at 10 am. Available in a small bowl (...$4.30) or a large bowl ($7.65). Yes, we will be open this weekend (and all weekends after). The San Jose Flea Market has always been a place for sellers to sell and to sell well! REMINDER: This Saturday (9/5) is a Free Selling Saturday at The San Jose Flea Market! First come, first served. For those of you missing the event scene for sellers, this is a perfect opportunity to try out selling at The Flea, free of any cost. We have plenty of daily seller spaces available each weekend so if you have a positive vendor experience this Saturday, you can always come back and vend on a more regular basis!
