Do your SHOES pass the test? After everything we’ve talked about regarding foot strength and mobility, something else to consider is how well your feet move in your shoes! You should be able to wiggle your toes and bend your shoes through the arch, which means your footwear is allowing your feet to do their job: to MOVE.... Better inputs through better footwear = More mobility and strength! See more

Your brain is a key regulator of glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Unfortunately this isn’t the headline most people are hearing about right now in th...e health and fitness world. It’s much easier to oversimplify the conversation and just blame carbs. Unfortunately that is not only just plain wrong, it’s insensitive to the complexity of physiological interactions within someone suffering from diabetes. In the study posted below, researchers used deep brain stimulation, basically shocked this guys brain for 17 hours at a time, to increase dopamine. The goal was to improve symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder but during the test run, the patients diabetes symptoms improved. Interesting right? So they did a later trial and confirmed what they had seen before. The implications of this are pretty substantial. The area they targeted with stimulation increases dopamine. Dopamine tends to oppose the activation of enzymes that produce serotonin. Serotonin has been linked to diabetes. Most of the serotonin we produce we produce in the gut when we eat fermentable foods like raw vegetables, nuts, seeds, starch, gums, carageenan, fibrous things. If those foods increase serotonin, and dopamine/brain activity opposes serotonin by way of increasing dopamine, wouldn’t it then stand that doing fitness and training activities that target specific brain areas and avoiding foods that insult the gut could be a powerful combination to remedy or prevent diabetes?

STROBE GOGGLES We use these for training athletes of all sports. These goggles increase the activation of other systems when the input from the visual system is decreased from the strobe effect. The goggles also help rehab injured tissue back to 100% by increasing the proprioception to that area. @senaptec Z-Health Performance
