Oooh look who got new headshots We're not sure how we have SO MANY model-looking cats right now, but we're definitely not complaining. Sprinkles and Serene are two ginger beauties who love the pampered life. They're low-key girls looking for people who will gently dote on them. Come meet them in person between 2-5pm daily! hssv.org/adopt

Sweet lil Chispa is really finding her footing! This shy girl has been blossoming with the help of her awesome foster family and is growing in confidence by the day. Her personality has moved leaps and bounds, partially thanks to the help of other confident canines who are showing her the ropes. She would love to go home with a friend that can help her continue on her journey. Apply to meet her! hssv.org/chispa
When you're just trying to spoon with your new bf but you keep getting interrupted (Camille is the brindle-y girl in front, and she's still looking for a home! Stop by our Milpitas ACC from 10am-1pm daily and ask to meet her)
To round out our day of happy content, here's some news to make you smile! It's no surprise that adoption demand since the pandemic has been huge. But what about the number of adoptions? Well, we took a look and found that since we reopened our adoptions program virtually, we have found homes for 2,925 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens! That's incredible, and such a huge testament to our amazing community and their big hearts. Thank you all!!
Happy Tails! Sierra (Previously named Tiger Lily) is doing amazing in her new home and her new family has fallen head over heels for her. Just look at this sweet girl!
Happy Tails! Glitter has completely warmed up to her new home and is napping everywhere she can. Congrats, Glitter! Looks like you landed the perfect home.
Noelle needs your help! This super sweet girl came to us last week in critical condition after being shot in the face. The shot broke several of her teeth, fractured her jaw, and as you can see from the X-ray, fragments of the shotgun pellets were embedded in her mouth. Our incredible medical staff performed a very long surgery removing her broken teeth, repairing her jaw, and closing the wound. Although the surgery is done, we still need to raise $4,700 to cover her surgery expenses and ongoing care. Will you support Noelle’s second chance by donating today? Any amount helps!
Merry Christmas and happy holidays from your friends at Humane Society Silicon Valley! No matter what and how you celebrate, we wish you and yours (both two-legged and four-legged!) the best today.
Let's see how quickly you can fall in love with our girl, Loraine. At 13 years old, this gal is a gentle soul. She loves to be fed while sitting in your lap and if you're lucky, she might just gift you a snuggle or two. Make your day and adopt her at www.hssv.org/lorraine
Hey all! We want to give a quick update on our adoptions program. First, we want to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who have adopted or are trying to adopt during this time - we are so grateful for your desire and willingness to welcome a homeless animal into your family. We also know that for many of you, the process has been difficult and sometimes frustrating. The adoption appointment lists fill up extremely quickly every week, so we wanted to give some context on that.... The main reason the lists fill up so quickly is the huge demand - from our web data, we can see that more than 1,000 of you are on our site every Monday right at 11am hoping to sign up for an appointment. That’s incredible! But there are a limited number of spots on the list, and here’s why: The number of available animals we have every week varies some, but what we know for sure is that the demand for adoption far exceeds the number of animals we have available. We have been working continuously with our rescue partners to bring in homeless animals from shelters all over the state to continue to save more lives while also trying to meet the demand. We are taking in many, many animals every week, and they are finding homes quickly thanks to all of you (since shelter-in-place started, we have found homes for over 1,700 animals - that’s unbelievable!). Finally, please know that we are continuously working on our adoptions process to make it as clear, fair and accessible as possible. One way we have already started to make adjustments is through our Diamond in the Ruff program. In addition to our regular appointment process, we have a number of animals, many who may have extra behavioral or medical needs, available through our Diamond in the Ruff form. This is just one of the ways we’re working on our process to find both people and animals their perfect matches. Thank you again to all of you for your support and patience during this very unique time. We’re so grateful that amidst everything going on in the world, one of the silver linings is that animals are finding amazing homes faster than ever. Thank you!
Happy Tails! Nyla is loving life with her new family. We might be a bit biased, but we think she rocks that Santa hat better than the big man himself!
Coffee saves lives! The cost of your weekly caffeine jolt can save the lives of homeless animals in need. Join our monthly giving program to help local cats and dogs get the love and care they deserve. hssv.org/faithful
