It's proven that the door-to-door canvassing results in higher votes than the mass mailing. Concerning the door-to-door election canvassing, however, many folks seem confused. Unlike popular belief, it is not solicitation, rather, a public announcement or information presentation so that the voters can make informed decision. HOAs may have a No Soliciting sign or rule as a deterrent, but they cannot "legally" keep citizens from entering the gated community and knocking on voters' doors pursuant to the U.S. Supreme Court Ruling (Watchtower Bible & Tract Society v. Village of Stratton, 2002). Citizens canvassing for political reasons are not selling an item or asking for donations and it's protected by the First Amendment. -- By Inki Welch, For Rincon Water 2020

Words of wisdom for the recent political climate: "The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." (Cicero - 55 BC) "Tolerance is the last virtue of a dying society" (Aristotle - 300 BC) These warnings seem to refer to the U.S. nowadays... Now that I think of it, politics haven’t changed a bit for the past 2,300+ years.. --Inki Welch's Small Thought

Inki Welch's U.S. Series #43: Before the U.S. Presidents' faces were carved into Mt. Rushmore, it was called 'The Six Grandfathers', a part of the sacred Black Hills belonged to the Great Sioux Nation. When gold was discovered in the Black Hills, the 1868 Treaty was breached by the Congress Act of 1877, seizing the land and forcing the Indians onto reservation. Mt. Rushmore [Six Grandfathers Mountain] symbolizes democracy with its image for freedom and patriotism. However, the other side of the story regretfully demonstrates the lack of understanding and respect shown to the Native people who inhabited the land for generations prior to European settlers.

I live in San Diego county . If you are a law enforcement officer or a first responder needing a break, you can come park outside my home. If you are thirsty, I will bring you a drink. If you are hungry, I will fix you food. If you are hot, I will invite you inside to cool off. If you need to cry, I will hug you and let you. If you need to talk, I will listen. If you need to pray, I will kneel with you. If you are wrong, I will tell you. If you are right, I will support you. I only ask that you don't lose faith in Americans. We are NOT all against you. ALL lives matter, as do yours. Look around and see the people that are here and care for you. God Bless you and your family. -- Your Friendly Fellow American, Inki Welch #USA #Americans #lawenforcement #firefighters #policeofficers #firstresponders #AllLivesMatter #faithinamericans
