MBA students Affad Shaikh and Kriti Saxena, MS in Financial Engineering students Cindy Bi and Yiping Lu, and KGI student Xavier Aparicio have teamed up to compete in the 2021 CFA Institute Research Challenge (IRC), an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. In late November, the team participated in an important phase of the competition: a conference call that unv...eils which company they'll offer research-based solutions for. To their excitement, Snapchat was revealed as the 2021 IRC subject company (pictured). CGU President Len Jessup recently announced a $14-million gift from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians that allows the university to purchase the Huntley Bookstore. This is a huge step toward developing the Yuhaaviatam Center for Health Studies, a multi-disciplinary health research center for CGU scholars and outside partners and researchers with a focus on serving vulnerable populations in the Inland Empire and Indian Country. The vision for the center is based on CGU’s transdisciplinary philosophy that says no single discipline or profession can solve the world’s most complex problems.
