From Milton's family... We adopted Milton one year ago today and we wanted to express our gratitude to Taps. We are so happy and love Milton so so much! He is the sweetest, most lovable dog in the world and has been the best quarantine buddy ever. Thank you so much for all that you do and for matching us with sweet little Milton. We are ever so grateful!

Our Thanksgiving gesture was to invite these two sweet pups to our last available Operation Adopt TN space. Found living under a trailer with nails so long they had to be sedated to trim them and a non-contagious skin irritation, Elvis and JoJo never imagined their lives would take such a great turn. They will be with us a few months so we can get to know them and repair them - physically and emotionally. Thank you to who donate to this program to help us help them. We couldn’t do it without you!

Gretchen isn't scared of ghosts or jack o'lanterns, but toddlers make her jump fences! This low key sweet mature 8ish year old girl is an awesome and loyal companion. She craves human love and gives it right back. Gretchen is still up for long walks and a moderately active schedule. If Gretchen may be your perfect fit, we'd love to hear from you. Please visit www.tapsusa.org and complete an application or email [email protected] for more information.

[Operation Adopt TN #57] Gulliver (left) was wandering around in the great big world all by himself. Thank goodness a kind older couple were able to convince him to come shelter at their house while they tried to find where he belonged. At the vet's office, he was scanned for a microchip (which he didn't have) and also given vaccinations and a heartworm test (which was positive). The older couple reached out to us to see if we could help Gulliver. Because of all of you and your support, we were able to provide Gulliver several months of R&R to finish his treatment, get neutered and then walk into the lives of this happy family.

[Operation Adopt LA #1466] Gretchen was cool with a baby in the home but when toddler age set in, she had a difficult time adjusting. To be clear, her pet parents were devastated and have paid for all of Gretchen’s care while back with us waiting for her next family to find her. Keeping everyone safe is a reality with small kids in a home - some dogs can adjust and some can’t. Gretchen’s purple collar promise followed her and after some time in this foster home, they asked if they could be her forever home.

Operation Adopt TN welcomed Booker last week after his owner died and Lady Lucy Savannah the resident lab showed him the key to getting into shape is a good game of chase!

In 2018, Eagle Scout Wyatt Wheeler and Boy Scout Troop #201 built and donated these awesomely happy purple benches to Operation Adopt Los Angeles. They have been re-stated to Tennessee in what is now known as our Purple Park! Stay tuned for more purple fun in the upcoming months!

Operation Adopt TN alum Boof aka Duke Blue came from the Palmdale, California shelter as part of a hoarding case of Birman cats. Today, this regal fellow, helps his mom with yoga (of course on a purple mat).

[Operation Adopt Tennessee #56] Blue and his siblings were an unwanted litter of puppies. When a good samaritan in Nashville found out about them, she took all of them and promised them better lives. Her mom knew about our mission and asked if we might be able to take over their care and oversee their adoption. YES! This local family was smitten with Blue's dapper looks and charming personality and just like that - he has his own family now!

[Operation Adopt Tennessee #55] Betsy is a vocal advocate for her breed so we had to make sure that she got into a home where she would get lots of exercise and have someone home most of the time. These retired educators read up on Beagles before meeting Betsy and decided they wanted her as they retirement adventure!

(Adoption 1465) Alice arrived at TAPS about to give birth. She had 3 handsome boys. She raised them well and then sent them on their way to enjoy their new, happy homes. Now Alice is kicking off her "me time" by choosing her own pack. Enjoy your happy life, Alice!

[OPERATION ADOPT TN #54] Peaches (right) was given away - luckily - to someone who was willing to take in her and her 2 brothers before they were just given away or let loose. As small puppies who were not wanted in the home where the (unaltered) parents live, they got the best of care while she tried to find a home for them. With her full time job and law school getting ready to start, her mom who knows about the organization asked us to help. After getting spayed, Peaches landed her full family right away!

[Operation Adopt TN] Welcome TITAN and CHANEL. When their owner was diagnosed with a terminal illness, her one request to her family was they remove seniors Titan and Chanel before she was released from the hospital and taken to her home for hospice care. With overgrown hair, bad teeth and Titan likely having been dropped early on in his life, one shelter even turned them away. When they finally landed at another remote shelter they were cleaned up and given a dental treat...ment (which included many teeth being removed). The shelter contacted us because they are seniors and they wanted them in a better place. This bonded duo is doing awesome at with Operation Adopt Tennessee - their appetite is good and they love to play! They are tiny little Maltese pups who have been vetted and now deserve special attention in a loving home. (Our adoption radius is 50 miles from Friendsville, TN. If you are interested in these wondertwins please submit an application at www.tapsusa.org)

Meet Betsy! My shelter (located in an area where most Beagles like me are just hunting and outside dogs) contacted Operation Adopt Tennessee and asked them to find me a super new life as a cherished pet. I love people! I love being held. I love getting attention. While I explore the world with my nose, I live life with my heart. You'll fall in love with me. My ideal home will be safe, low activity and full of love waiting just for me! ... I weigh approximately: 20lbs If you'd like to meet me, please complete an application at www.tapsusa.org

Meet GULLIVER! (Tennessee) I was running around an neighborhood for days when a nice couple was able to lure me to safety. I don't talk and with no microchip, I couldn't find my way back to wherever I was. Shelters were contacted and posts and posters were put everywhere - but no one called about me. A retired couple took me in, but I was just a little too large and lively to be a lap dog (wink)! They contacted Operation Adopt and asked if they would come to my rescue an...d they did! I am probably 3-4ish. I am sweet and get attached really easily. I have hair that will need to be groomed - so I don't shed a lot. I need to learn stuff - like the basics for starters (sit, stay, etc...). I also am clueless about what it could be like to be a real part of the family. My ideal home would be low activity with someone who will be patient with me and take me for walks. I weigh approximately: 25-35lbs If you want to meet me, please first fill out an adoption application at www.tapsusa.org
