Here is an interesting thing. Simon, the riding simulator has been invited over to the Grand National in San Francisco. My question it are there enough riders attending the Grand National to make it worth my while to haul the mechanical horse over there and teach on him during the week of the Grand National. Let me know what you think. C
Horse Expo was great for the Riding Simulator. The only difficutly was making sure I was scheduled for any breaks. By Friday afternoon we were booked through to midday Saturday and by midday Saturday we were booked through to middle of Sunday. Great responses from the riders. Enthusiastic and excited about what they learned. C
Rita and Athena WON THEIR GOLD MEDAL! CONGRATULATIONS! My First Gold Medal Rider! WHOOPEE!!!!
Transitions! Why are transitions so hard? To practice the transisitons and the timing of the aids that signal the transistions one must DO the transitions. Millions of transitions. Using the riding simualtor gives you the opportunity to practice multiple transitions while watching yourself and NOT driving your horse out of his mind while you are learning the timing and position of the aids.
Just to let everyone know Simon will be at Horse Expo this year. We will be teaching all three days, and also holding free clinics twice a day lecturing on posture and position using volunteers from the audience. So come join the fun. C
Hello, I was thinking this would be a good forum for a question and answer discussion. An example would be; One of my simulator riders asked in frustration "How can I tell him to stop or give a half holt and NOT PULL BACK?! Do any of you have any thoughts on this? My point on it is that the horse moves up to the hand rather than the hand moving back to the horse. ... What do you think?
The Riding Simulator offers students a way to practice posture and position, and learn a balanced seat while in a controlled environment. Making the mechanical horse the Perfect Schoolmaster. " I highly recommend dressage lessons on Simon, the riding simulator. Colleen is excellent at teaching the biomechanics of riding. So, with Colleen as a trainer and Simon as a steady mount, I have really focused on building the muscle memory necessary for proper rider position. I've also found my lessons on Simon to be surprisingly effective at helping me to understand elusive concepts like "riding with the motion", "connection" and "feel". For me, Simon is the perfect complement to riding lessons! " Jane T., Sacramento, CA
