15 things your hairdresser wants you to know 1. A cut and a trim cost the same. You aren’t paying for the amount of hair on the floor, you are paying for the hair left on your head. 2. Trying to request whoever does best is one of the rudest things you can do in a salon. This also includes asking me if I know what I am doing. That’s why I have a license. And you should do research before picking the chair to sit in ... 3. You should NOT be able to count your layers. 4. Yes. Those are the only days I work. 5. Short, but not too short is NOT a legitimate measurement. 6. When you say you want it exactly like this picture, but not that short then you DON’T want it exactly like that picture. 7. No, you will never look like Beyoncé, Halle Berry or Eva Longoria with box color. 8. Saying you want something completely different without cutting too much off or changing the color is NOT POSSIBLE. 9. Don’t ask me if I have anything earlier after asking me to schedule you for my earliest available time. 10. If you come in late, it is only forgivable if you have a coffee for me. 11. You knew your birthday was coming up longggg before now. No, I cannot squeeze you in. 12. No, you cannot eat a full meal while I am doing your hair. 13. If you walk in the door 10 min before closing, you are not getting a haircut. 14. Don’t try to help by holding your head up while I’m shampooing. I promise your head is not that heavy. I can pick it up. 15. And, no, it is NOT the least stressful job out there. Anyone who says that has never stood behind a chair 8-13 hours a day.

If you need an appointment please do so ASAP I’m filling up fast! Due to CDC guidelines, things may look a bit different at your next appointment. Here’s what to expect... Please wait in your car until I text you that I’m ready. The waiting area will be completely off limits.... Please do not bring any friends/family/children to your appointment. They will not be allowed inside salon. Masks MUST be worn for the duration of your appointment. No mask, no service. I will have a sanitization station set up inside my salon. Please use when you enter. Anyone with a temp over 100 will need to reschedule. Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, or anyone who has been in contact with someone who showed symptoms of COVID-19 will need to reschedule. If you come to your appointment sniffing, or coughing appointment will have to rescheduled. Beverage service will not be provided at this time. The Less you bring better. You only need keys, phone & form of payment. Please, no chatting at the shampoo bowl. I know this can all sound overwhelming, but I am doing everything I can to ensure the health and safety of myself and my guests at this time. If you are uncomfortable for any reason, please hold out on booking your appointment. I am required to sanitize my salon between every client, and am happy to do so! Just know that this leaves me less time for appointments and space is limited. That being said, my cancellation policy will be reinstated at this time. It's just hair - I was there for your first date. It's just hair - I was there for your school dance . It's just hair - I was there for their funeral. It's just hair- I was there for your graduation. It's just hair- I was there when you didn't like the way you looked. It's just hair- when you are getting ready to interview for your dream job and we needed to get you a full makeover and pep talk It's just hair- when all you wanted in the whole world is a hug from your hair stylist because you knew they'd give it to you with open arms! It’s just hair- when you just found out your expecting and haven’t shared the news with anyone else yet It's just hair- when you lost your job and didn't know what you were going to do It's just hair- when you were getting a divorce and just needed to feel better about yourself. Attention Purple Cape Salon guests I try my best to be positive and not worry about what will happen when I return to work, but the fact is my job is very high risk. I will do everything in my power to ensure that we are as safe as possible, So now will be some new rules when entering the salon. Please be patient that you may have to wait weeks to get an appointment. Realize everyone else is wanting in as well & I will not be booking a full schedule like I used to.... Please wait in your car until I motion for you to come in or message you by text. I will be sanitizing between customers and there will be no waiting area. Please know it will take me longer to be sure I'm protecting myself and protecting you by disinfecting every surface in my salon. Extra time will need to be scheduled between appointments for sanitation. Please understand that I will be asking more detailed questions about your travel and health history. Please don't come in if you or any member of your family has had a fever or any symptoms of COVID-19. Temps will be taken at the door with a touch less thermometer and if it’s higher than 99, you will be asked to reschedule. Please don't bring others with you to your appointment. We will still need to practice social distancing as much as possible. No children will be allowed with unless they have an appointment. Please CALL or message me for an appointment instead of stopping in. Please wash your hands in the bathroom for at least 20 seconds with soap and water when entering the salon. Also hand sanitizer will be available. Please wear a mask as long as it's recommended by the CDC. If you do not have your own mask, one will be provided for you. Those that go around the ears will be best for services. Please STOP WEARING GLOVES. You're only spreading disease when touching multiple surfaces with them on. Yes- salon's will reopen- at some point- different for every state, every salon. What can CLIENTS do to help salons navigate a new 'normal' you ask? Know you were missed terribly and your stylists is grateful for your return.... ... Know safety measures were created for all involved. Know the importance of coming alone, extra people in a salon compromises everyone. Know your stylist cannot physically work 16 hour days 7 days a week, rest is essential for all.. Know your initial services will take more time. Know that coming in sick isn't an option Know that walk-ins will not be an option for some salons- call the salon before you leave home. Know that rescheduling hundreds of clients will take time... Know that when you arrive you will need to wait until your stylist gives you the go ahead before entering the building, having your cell phone handy in your car will help considerably. Know that your stylist is thrilled to see you but doesn't want or need a hug, your presence is the best hug ever. Know that your health is the biggest concern. Know that your stylist may choose to open at a later date than the state your in has allowed, being respectful of that decision takes an unimaginable load off his/ her brain and heart. Know your stylist has already lost thousands of and has no desire to replace it with a ventilator for either of you, be patient. Know that if your health is already high risk, you need to wait, your health is more important.. Know that a 'soft opening ' will be anything but soft. Know that your opinion of the entire situation won't change laws and rules necessary for everyone's safety are, keep the conversation to hair and how we can make you beautiful Know that while trying to connect with your stylist there are hundreds of others attempting the same thing, responses will be slow coming as your stylist is preparing everything and answering everyone simultaneously Know, above all else, no one is more excited about your arrival than your stylist- help make it the best appointment ever!!! Together we can make this work safely for all
