Contempt hearings are much like criminal proceedings in that the potential punishment involves time in jail and/or a substantial fine. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office should be overseen and monitored by a federal court, which can ensure protection of constitutional and civil rights

Today the Hallinan Law Firm celebrates a victory. Jesse D. retained us in April, subsequent to his preliminary hearing at which he had been displeased with his representation. He was charged with attempted robbery with the use of a weapon, assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, and having a prior strike conviction, thus facing a state prison sentence of 19 years and four months.
