This Shabbat we sadly remember Kristallnacht - The Night of Broken Glass, November 9, 1939. That night state-sanctioned pogroms occurred all over Germany, destroying homes, businesses and 200 synagogues across Germany, as well as arresting 30,000 Jewish men and sending them to slave labor camps. However, we can also join in the celebration of 30 years since the falling of the Berlin Wall - which was on November 9, 1989. Always believe that redemption is possible.
