Image Description: [Blue background with pink, blue and purple drop designs. In purple text Happy Bisexual Week. Below in pink text: That includes you of you want it to!] It is Bisexual Awareness Week. Bisexual includes and is not limited to those attracted to more than one gender. One does not need to date or have sex with other genders to "prove" your sexuality. Just like straight people don't need to prove theirs. This if they choose can include but not be limited to: #bisexuals #pansexuals #polysexuals #omnisexual #biromatic #homoflexible #lesbiflexiable #hetreoflexiable #queer #fluidsexuality #bicurious if I missed your identity please comment it. Also your sexuality is valid no matter who you currently are in community or relationship with, no matter what reason.

CW: Extrajudicual Murders, police killings; Stigmatization of mental illness, Systems never made to honor Black Indegenious People of Color and thud harming them . . . .... . . Daniel Prude of NY is just (likely not) the last of too many BIPOC folx whose brains functioned different. It is suggested after their deaths that they needed more care, support, doctors visits. Yet again I want to ask maybe we as those who hold up and benefit from this system need to change. It is a requirement to acknowledge and dismantle ableism and racism which cannot be separated. More thoughts on this can be found in my BLM and Racial Justice statement link in bio . Scroll to see the names more people who had families and communities who were killed by the police, by our system during the times they were most in need. . . . Shereese Francis, killed in New York City in March 2012; Miriam Carey, shot in Washington, DC, in October 2013; Pearlie Golden, shot in Hearne, Texas, in May 2014; Tanisha Anderson, killed in Cleveland in November 2014 from the report Say Her Name coauthored by Kimblere Crenshaw More names found in a preliminary search everytime I looked I found more, if I missed one meaningful to you please comment Natasha McKenna of VA; Charleena Lylesof WA; Philip Coleman of IL; Quintonio Legrier of IL; Timotheus Gordon of IL; Bettie Jones of IL; Chris Huff of IL; Osage Osagie of PA; Travis Jordan of MN; Zachary Bear Heels of NE; Pamela Turner of TX; Atatiana Jefferson of TX; Isaiah Lewis of OK; Laquan McDonald of IL; Eleanor Bumpurs of NY; Antony Nuñez of CA; Marlene Pinnock of CA; Miles Hall of CA #BlackLivesmatter #BlackDisabledLivesMatter #BlackHealthMatters #SayHerName #DefundThePolice #CareNotCages #SocialWorkersForSocialJustice #DisablityJustice #RacialJustice

Image description: sticker on embroidered Ukrainian tablecloth with traditional patterns in blue and yellow thread. Sticker created by shreya shah through Salt Water Art and Design. After some searching could not find them on IG. Sticker is black with golden image and text. The image is a anatomical heart with floral illustrations that reminds this writer of henna. The text at the bottom reads: we must not only heal the suffering that oppression causes, but we must also heal ...the oppression caused by suffering. [sterling totes] In their Etsy store they sell these in multiples. I keep them in multiple spaces including my office, my home, my purse, at times a bookmark in books which center liberation. Oppression, which is traumatic, is cyclical and the transfer of it leads to many people move through, mostly without intention nor awareness, between being harmed and doing the harm. We need to unlearn the binaries that the powerful attempt to push on us: victim and preparator, villain and hero, abuser and victim, oppressor and oppressed. Many times we are asked to engage in these words to attempt justice, accountability, healing. They are dehumanizing and limit our own ability to hold those we love accountable. We can love our communities and trust they can do better. Many of us harm ourselves and others through racism. We must be able to call each other and ourselves out and in. Holding someone accountable is a sign of trust. It expresses a belief we can do better and that is beautiful and brave! Mental health has ALWAYS been political and weaponized against BIPOC. 45 and ICE has used psychotropic medications to chemically restrain traumatized children they pulled away from their mothers. I hope the American Psychiatric Association and American Physicians Association make a statement and stand against these human rights abuses in US concentration camps. . #abolishICE #carenotcages #antioppression #traumainformed #antiviolence #antiracism #donoharmtakenoshit #defundICE #socialwork #socialworker #trauma #medicaltrauma #socialjustice #problack #proimmigrant #proqueer #prosexworker #proingenious #humanrights

#Repost and thank you @the.chronic.couple Asheville, North Carolina Thank you, @captaincollagen, for creating #protestinplace . A way to join the BLM movement for those of us who can’t attend protests and marches. As a disabled person who is physically unable due to a plethora of health reasons, I found myself feeling like there’s no way I could ever do enough.... My community has held beautiful candlelight vigils, powerful community marches, and artists like myself have contributed their work with murals of messages of support for racial justice around the city, only 2 miles from my house, and I can’t leave my home. I had to realize that there are other powerful ways to speak out, to make an impact for change. And there are LOTS of other crucial things I CAN do such as to educate myself and share with others, fundraisers, donations, artistic contributions, legislative advocacy, social media engagement, sharing information about local protests, have the uncomfortable conversations with those that need to hear it on social media or in real life; there are important roles for everyone to play. Remember that many disabled people will not be able to attend protests due to their disabilities or associated risks, no matter how much they desperately want to be there. And well-meaning remarks like, Get off the couch and join us or No armchair activism are actually ableist and unhelpful. Lasting change requires that we commit for the long haul. Not just one week, but when you log off social media. In the end, what matters is that we all work toward the world we want to see every day and that we participate in ways that work for us. In solidarity! We have seen the Police are not equipped to descalate nor be mental health providers! Our prisons are currently the largest mental health provider in the United States. Those of us with mental illness are 10x more likely to be victims of crime than identified as committing a crime. We are 16 times! Yes SIXTEEN times!, more likely to be killed by law enforcement. Black, Indegenious and Latinx folx with mental illness being most as risk. Fund Healthcare! Fund Care! Fund Community!
