Help us continue to provide accessible play in Monterey County. Thank you so much to all who have donated to our campaign on MC GIVES! It only runs through the end of the year, so please help us get the word out. Remember, we will get matching funds to all donations received through grants from leading local institutions. You can donate to the Tatum's Garden Foundation through the MC Gives website here:... http://mcgives.com/nonprofit/tatums Community Foundation for Monterey County Monterey Peninsula Foundation Monterey County Weekly Cannery Row

We are so excited to be taking part in the 2020 MC Gives! Campaign. We were unable to hold our yearly golf fundraiser this year (Halloween on the Green), so this will be our main fundraiser for the year. You can donate here, and read more about the campaign below: https://www.montereycountygives.com/tatums-garden The Halloween on the Green event typically helps us meet our budgetary goals each year. Please consider donating through MC Gives! this year, as your donations will ...be partially matched through a fund created by Community Foundation for Monterey County, Monterey Peninsula Foundation, and other generous donors. These funds will help keep Tatum's Garden up and running and will let us work on expanding accessible play throughout the county. It runs from today through midnight on December 31st. You will get a receipt for tax purposes from the Community Foundation after completing the donation process. Additionally, the MC Gives! Campaign covers the credit card processing and administration fees for the site, so we get 100% (plus match) of any donation. Thank you for your support!

Our hearts are broken this morning that our friend Mayor Joe Gunter has passed away. Joe will be remembered by many for his decades of selfless service to our community, as police officer, a detective and then later as our beloved and trusted mayor. For us, that translated into him being the champion of our dream to bring accessible play to children in Monterey County. He did soooo much behind the scenes to help make this place a reality!!!Tatum’s Garden will always stan...d as a legacy to this man, and his vision to foster private-public partnership was a gift to us. He led with integrity, honesty, and a deep passion to serve. Thank you for believing in us, Joe, and playing such a significant role in bringing our dreams to reality. We will continue your legacy as best we can to make this community a great place. #salinasmayor #tatumsgarden #buildingcommunity #lovingsalinas

Please share this post. Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, we will be suspending operation at Tatum’s Garden until further notice. This is not a decision our Foundation Board makes lightly. Our number one priority is to protect the health and well-being of the community in any way we can, being especially mindful that our special park is often visited by guests who may have more delicate immune systems. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as we are able. Take care of those around you! #tatumsgarden #protectingcommunity #harddecisions #inclusion #lovingsalinas
