New law for California drivers - "Give me 3" on 9/16/2014 AB 1371 (known as the "Give me 3" or Three Feet for Safety Act) goes into effect on September 16, 2014. Drivers must give at least 3 feet of space when passing a bicyclist traveling in the same direction. (The previous language used was "a safe distance.")
