All vibes welcome here There is a LOT of scary stuff happening in the world. You shouldn’t have to pretend that everything’s OK when it isn’t. An important part of taking care is recognizing and *allowing* feelings like fear, anxiety and sadness to arise without judgment, shame or denial. As you all know, I’m all for finding positivity in difficult situations but NOT for forcing it. ... A limiting approach of just look on the bright side or good vibes only can be really harmful. It can teach us to view some emotions as inherently bad; invalidate the full range of feelings we experience; and encourage judgment or repression of our complete humanity. Avoidance or suppression of our lived experience actually worsens our anxiety and mental health! Honoring your emotions doesn’t make you difficult it makes you a smart human. Sending all of you extra love and light. Amen Great post from our friends at @hormonelyco Pelvic pain is lonely. It's scary. And it can feel like it's taking over everything. It's also massively under-recognized and under-treated, and, when a physical cause isn't apparent, finding someone who can help gets extra difficult. FACT: pelvic pain can lead to trauma, and trauma can also lead to pelvic pain.... But no one should have to live with pain and be told that it's hopeless. Especially in these cases, when no physical cause is found, working on breaking the cycle of emotional pain and trauma with a qualified provider can give you hope. If you need help coping with the mental and emotional impact of pelvic pain... you belong in the Fierce Collective (link in bio) @tachakasper #pelvicpain #chronicpain #womenshealth #trauma #ptsd #pelvicfloor #pelvicfloorissues #pelvicfloorpain #pelvicfloorexercises

My heart goes out to all my fellow cancer fighters, survivors and thrivors!! Cancer is hard AF even after treatment is done. cancer is a chronic illness because it affects you for the rest of your life .... BUT...... ... If you have made it this far you have done an amazing job. You have the strength of a fierce warrior AND Things can still IMPROVE. It doesn’t have to be the only chapter or story in our book ... YOURS is a story of DEEP STRENGTH and FIERCE RESILIENCE. And yet, I’m here as living proof that we can always LEVEL UP and improve our mindset and find more joy, and move beyond just surviving... and into THRIViNG. We do this being healing our heart and soul that was affected and doing this in safe connection and community. Join us at The Fierce Collective for more healing. DM any questions I promise I’ll reply. Repost @melinda_kirby I’ve been wanting to make a reel for a while, and when I was listening to this song today in the car I knew exactly what I wanted to do one about. Once again, posting things like this is never to get you to feel sorry for me or any other cancer patient, rather to spread awareness of the realities we, as young adult cancer patients, face every single day. Please share if you can relate or want to spread awareness of the challenges of young adult cancer patients or any cancer patients.

THIS !!! A million times over shout out to all the Fierce cancer warriors. Take care of your mental health before, during and after treatment. The skills we use to survive are different than what we need to thrive. ... Check out The Fierce Collective (link in bio) for the only healing membership to really give you what you need #fiercelyresilient Repost @stupidcancer As the global pandemic keeps chugging along, we want to know: As an AYA cancer patient, how has COVID-19 affected you? (Tired of hearing that yet?) We've partnered up with Embleema to connect with real users and share real experiences by creating a survey that will aid our understanding of how the community is responding to increased social isolation, anxiety, and the impact on your treatment. We know many of this is not new to the AYA community (see meme) but by participating in this survey you are letting us know how we can help you navigate the changing treatment landscape and what programming will better serve you in the coming future. P.S. thanks for the all too relatable meme @the_mighty_molly

Therapy is for normal people.... people who need help with an issue, overcome a situation, alleviate and process grief, adapt to a new situation. There’s so many simple reasons why people may go to therapy.... it’s ALL okay. Reposted @theradicalimperfectionist Whenever I post pictures of myself with makeup at an ideal angle with ideal lighting I am reminded of all of the times I used to feel like an imposter when someone called me Beautuful. Bare with me... I thought that I had to look my best all of the time or I would be exposed as not enough. When I didn’t wear makeup I would hear you look so tired or are you ok and that just fueled my inner critic... the journey of freeing myself from... the power that my inner dialogue has over me has been two steps forward and one back. I am not what you see and neither are you. Our bodies are a gift, a tool to experience this incredible journey and they are subject to the laws of nature and that is not something to fight. I am at a place now where I can enjoy doing these things our culture promotes as maintenance by choice and for fun while not feeling I need them or that they make me worthy somehow. I am starting to enjoy it like an art but want to be sensitive to how it impacts others that have the same struggles that I have and have had. If you see a photo of me that looks good by societies standards, rest assured, it’s just me being expressive and having fun with these things but it’s not me and it’s not something to confuse reality with. I have wrinkles and scars and bags. I get morning breath and B.O. I have dandruff and dry skin and saggy boobs. I have fine limp hair naturally and shorter legs. And all of this IS Beautuful even when my culture doesn’t think so. All of this is the physical side of my human experience and not who I am and it’s not a measure by which I judge or value myself. The same should be true of you. Experience your human life in your incredible human body and don’t look at images you see in Instagram as a self-shaming tool like I used to. Amidst all that is going on, we are all being reminded of how lucky we are to have this physical part of our human experience and however mortal these human bodies are, they deserve our gratitude and our care. So love on those stretch marks and scars. Smile at your neighbor even if they can’t see your smile behind your mask. Give your body rest and food and attention See more

Here’s another article that is featured on the @hormonelyco site. So grateful to be sharing info on the mental and emotional impact of dealing with cancer. I adore helping and being of service to the cancer community. ... Triple Negative breast cancer came into my life like a wrecking ball and thankfully I caught it early and have thrived My mission is to help others not just survive but THRIVE during and after cancer. Cancer PTSD is a real thing and there is help. @hormonelyco People can be uncomfortable with grief and loss, and that can be hard on anyone going through cancer. Because grief is there, and there's plenty of it sometimes. Even when you're done and think "Why can't I just be grateful?" grief is still be there... and that's normal. Tomorrow, psychotherapist and breast cancer survivor Tacha Kasper @tachakasper shares how grief can affect you at different stages of the breast cancer journey and how to be fiercely resilient. #grief #loss #breastcancer #breastcancerawareness #counseling #mentalhealth #livefiercely #fiercelyresilient #triplenegativebreastcancersurvivor #triplenegativebreastcancer #breastcancersurvivor #breastcancerawarenessmonth #breastcancerptsd #cancerptsd #cancergrief #lifeaftercancer #thriveaftercancer #dontwaittofeelit #mammogram #savethetatas #checkyourboobs

Truly we don’t have a choice about what illness or pain will show up today .... But we do have the choice of how we respond to it... to our body ... Will we rise up to gently challenge and give our body what it’s asking for ... ... Or will we let it defeat us, and sink in further into despair... And honestly, most days it’s a combination of these... sections of time where we are okay enough to move forward and other times in the day where we are just done! It’s all okay. Give yourself grace in all of these moments. You’re having a normal reaction to an abnormal situation. Chronic pain/illness is not ‘normal’. Tame the inner voice who judges you for not doing enough. You ARE enough just as you are.... in all the many forms ... AND we can pursue self healing and development to continue to work towards a better quality of life despite our circumstances. Comment below .... do you feel the ups and downs in a day?? Too good not to share Thanks to @youlookokaytome for this video One of my pet peeves to do with my chronic illness is when people make decisions for me without talking to me first...... ...or better yet, having conversations about me and my condition without my presence. I have countless examples of missing out on invitations to things because people thought it was better not to invite me. Whilst I may have to decline on some days, it makes me feel like a child when no one asks me directly. I know some people who do this mean well, but most cases of miscommunication get solved by a simple chat. If you're unsure, just ask. Chronic conditions can make you feel really isolated. An open conversation with loved ones can help bridge that gap. Im going into more depth about this in a blog soon. I've just been too ill this week to edit. #chronicillness #invisibleillness #chronicpain #selfcare #selflove #mentalhealth #lupus #relationships #autoimmunedisease #contentcreator #video

My eyes are the prettiest green when I cry it’s a weird thing. So today they were bright green because I got super emotional and cried while listening to Evan’s session at Influencer Summit. Like the sobbing, snotty nose, red (& green) eyes, hot chocolate mess kinda cry ... WHY? BecauseHe said something that hit me like a train . I’ve been working very hard and am in the middle of a launch and I’ve been a bit of a taskmaster to myself. And comparing myself to last year at this time. (Which has been huge growth since then) But he said ... COMPARE YOURSELF TO 5 YEARS AGO....... and that image was HUGE .... because 5 years ago I was fighting for my life and don’t know if I was going to survive literally. And on other days, I prayed for it to end. I was in the midst of my battle and 6 months & several surgeries including a double mastectomy, into my rare & aggressive Triple Negative breast cancer journey. I wasn’t supposed to survive, let alone make it 5 years out. So it dawned on me in that moment when he said that ...... that I’ve been not celebrating my success over the past few years nearly enough.... and I’ve just kept chasing the next thing (which is good as I’m on a self healing self development journey) as well as serving others by creating more affordable mental health support via classes etc. Anyways, I just wanted to take a moment and thank Evan for this prompt... as well as Brendon for hosting another amazing influencer summit. Also, Evan encouraged us to take a pic with him and post it. (I freaked because I was in mid breakdown) but I did it anyways. And also, at his suggestion, I will offer a free 20 minute 1:1 coaching session to anyone who DM’s me but the caveat is that it will be publicly recorded. But hey... you get me for free. So just DM me and reference this post and I’ll take care of you. I’m so honored and blessed to be alive and do what I do... serving the emotional and mental health of chronic illness, cancer & trauma community. It’s an HONOR TO SERVE you. I feel there’s a reason God has kept me around and so I work hard to be of service and share the gift. #influencersummit

It’s possible to shift your mindset. Mine started with. ... Arghh another day of testing at the hospital. .... it’s been this way for 15 years now. But things are a bit more complicated the past few after cancer. Chemo damaged my lungs and heart ..... it’s the gift that keeps on giving ... But guess what.... I’m still living a #fiercelyresilient life. .... BY DESIGN. I could let these things get me down and ruin my day... but instead I use it as an opportunity. I had a great conversation with the 2 pulmonary techs about how they can live an empowered life. They don’t have my physical issues... be agreed that we all have something. And I could see it on their youthful faces that these guys had each endured some difficult things. We joked. We laughed and used twisted medical humor and they loved it. They even commented that they always have to be very careful with their humor. I get it. But when we can connect human to human then it’s all okay. I went in knowing it wasn’t going to be pleasant for me but the intention I set was to bring a smile to everyone I encountered and try to make them laugh. I took the focus off myself and out it on what I could control.... my attitude (and smart ass humor) So BRING THE JOY wherever you go!! #mindsetmatters #chemowarrior #breastcancerawarenessmonth #breastcancersurvivor #triplenegativebreastcancersurvivor #triplepositivebreastcancer #tnbc #humorheals #copd #cardiomyopathyawareness #cardiomyopathy #spoonielife #spooniesupport #livefiercelynow #resilientlife #resilientcoach #selfhealer #mindsetshift #neuroplasticity #healyourself #selfmastery #personaldevelopment #livefiercelynow #alternativehealing #holistichealing #intentionsetting #selfawarenessjourney #selfcompassion #selfgrowth #personalgrowth
