I thought I would share My new iPhone 11 pro max setup experience. Which failed miserably. Failed initial setup when it demanded with no exit to update to the latest software. It spun a gear for 40 minutes without completing..... It then did not want to restart, had to hold the side button down for more then 30 seconds for it to finally restart. At which point it started a progress bar, crashed out, started again with a progress bar through the lower 1/8 of the Apple icon itself, started again with a normal progress bar. At which time I tried to restore from a fresh backup from my local computer. It refused saying the copy was incompatible with the new phone. It came from my 1 year old MAX. It then failed to copy again from the older max for the restore. Finally I started a manual setup and told it to grab from the cloud backup I did just before trying the new setup. It stared and required an update to the latest update again. Then again restarted, with a really slow, stalled progress bar. Upon completing it told me the purchases made from a different Apple account, which infact was the same account and required that password again. At which time the request timed out. It then started again and restore from cloud window popped up. I might add I did a fresh wipe install of the new phone last year so it did not carry problems forward. In total it took almost 1.5 hours to complete a setup. It also took me 6 phone calls to T Mobil and each person was more inept then the previous one, including 2 supervisors. AND THIS IS THE BEST IPHONE IN THE APPLE PRODUCT LINE. I really miss Steve Jobs.

Having issues with your i9 MacBook pro, in this case mid 2018... I have been experiencing overheating and fans at full speed/noise...I went through the usual motions of Reseting the PRAM and SMC etc. Ran Techtool and Diskwarrior and Disk utility. Loaded TG PRO to track the fans speed and temps. Ended up needing to call apple since I could not proof the problem... they sent me to the local Storefront. Within 2 minutes of the conversation starting the Genius noticed the compute...r starting from the space bar and telling me it should not do that, and injured as t wether the unit has been shutting down or restarting. SO THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM... Genius took the unit to send to Apple for a new motherboard. SSD is attached to the board... so, if its not backed up you will loose everything. Just another Reminder to BACKUP to multiple devices regularly. And in this case to take in your Macbook if its behaving similarly. See more

Mojave 10.14.5 Install. So there is a nasty bug on the 10.14.5 Installer that will drop out on attempting to install after it reboots to an Apple screen and starts the Progress Bar. The best I have found is to restart in safe mode, holding down the Shift key on reboot. Then go to the apple Icon upper left/ About this Mac/System Report/ Software... it should say Boot Mode "Safe"...then try to to the install. It will restart possibly twice, take to long, then get hung about 3/4's across the progress bar. Then force a restart with the power key, and wait for it to open at the desktop. Good Luck
