A few weeks back I posted a page from Boxrec that had my son Richard TorrezJr. ranked #2 in the world I also wrote that there were several different ranking organizations that did these rankings. Well to add more light to the matter AIBA is considered the #1 ranking organization. So, their ranking is considered the last word. If you look at the attachment below, you can see that AIBA has my boy ranked #3 in the world Although he is happy with the news, he is not satisfied with the news. He is counting down the days until he will be able to take his rightful spot a #1 in the world! Richard Torrez Jr. Shown here receiving his gold medal...without throwing a punch. Not the way he wanted it to happen. He went to Italy to get some competition but the coaches from India & France thought it best to pull their boxers out of the competition rather than face Richard Torrez Jr. These two boxers are the best that there country’s have to offer but they chose to step aside. Richard Jr. has been training hard and is ready for any challenge!
