Symposia Church 02.11.2020

Symposia Covenant Church, a few months ago, partnered with a small organization in Oxnard, CA in providing children of indigenous farmers with school supplies. For the month of November, Symposia is partnering with Foothill Family Shelter by helping families in the surrounding communities of our church celebrate Thanksgiving Day, a cherished American holiday. Our church aims to donate at least 15 Thanksgiving baskets. Our church is willing to provide fifteen $20 gift cards. You just need to buy the baskets and the rest of the stuff in the baskets. Will you be willing to donate 1 or more baskets? We can pick them up on or before November 10. We will deliver them to Foothill Family Shelter on or before November 10.

Instead of Minerva, a member of our pastoral team, preaching this Sunday, I will be the one preaching this Sunday. We will reschedule her for November or December. This Sunday @ Symposia: Sermon Title: Sheep Without A Shepherd... Speaker: Dr. Fidel Arnecillo, Jr. Series: Prophetic Words for Such a Time as This There are many evangelicals who do not want to be called evangelicals anymore in the U.S. I assume that they do not want to be associated with the things that are now commonly associated with the word evangelical. An evangelical pastor recently resigned from the church that he has been pastoring for years, due to a politically divided congregation. Sex scandals in Protestant and Catholic churches are now more known to the world. There is a lack of spiritual vitality in mainline Protestant churches today. Church attendance in America has been dwindling significantly, even before the pandemic. Now most churches in America do not have in-person gatherings. Pastors and priests are likely very stressed right now. As church funds go down the drain and parishioners lose interests in going to church, pastors and priests are likely shaken. Some churches are now closed. Christians die from coronavirus. Christians lose their jobs. Christians have damaged relationships with their spouses, children, parents, and friends. Are we, as Christians, now sheep without a shepherd? We need to be re-discipled once again by the compassionate Jesus in the synoptic gospels. Let that process start this Sunday at Symposia’s online service!

For we have this hope, as an anchor for our soul. You are with us, we will never be alone. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19

Symposia Church 03.09.2020

Around the beginning of 2020, Symposia officially began collecting offerings. Two and a half months after, we became a fully online church. We’ve been like that for 7 months. Symposia remains to be a stable church plant with its leadership team that is still intact and full of passion for Jesus. That’s a testament of God’s faithfulness. We’re here to stay as long as God wants to use us. Thank you, Lord!

Prophetic messages are supposed to pierce our hearts. That is why we often resist them. We don’t want to hear them. They make us feel uncomfortable.
