Sylvan STEAM Academy Lottery applications for the 2021-22 school year will be available in all SUSD school offices on Monday February 1st. They are due to Sylvan STEAM Academy (2908 Coffee Road) by 4:00 PM on February 26th.

Family Literacy is important to us. We have teamed up with Learning Quest to offer our Sylvan Union School District families FREE Online English Classes. Important information for parents/guardians of Sylvan 8th grade students: As a feeder district to Modesto City Schools, Sylvan Union School District is committed to working collaboratively with Modesto City Schools to ensure that our students and families experience a successful transition from middle school to high school. In preparation for your child(ren) to attend high school in 2021-22, we encourage you to participate in two upcoming events hosted by Modesto City High S...chools. The following events will provide parents/guardians and students with valuable information. First, mark your calendars to attend a virtual Open House and 8th Grade Parent Night at your high school of residence on the evening of Thursday, January 28th. Additional details regarding this event will be provided to you from Modesto City Schools. Second, mark your calendars for the Career Technical Education (CTE) Program Overview event to take place on Thursday, January 21, from 5-6 p.m. The virtual Microsoft Live event is primarily geared toward parents and students in 7th-11th grade, however all are welcome. Attendees will learn about the various CTE programs available at high schools and how these programs help prepare students for their future. Some of the courses you will learn about include culinary arts, health services, broadcast media, ag science, auto mechanics, the Army JROTC, and more. We have included some CTE photos that were taken pre-pandemic. In February, your child(ren) will begin the balloting process for their 9th grade year. Students will be provided with information from high school counselors during their PE classes. To complete the balloting process, 8th grade students will need to complete online registration with Modesto City Schools. Additional information about the online registration process will be provided to you from Modesto City Schools or you can visit www.mcs4kids.com. REMINDER: Tomorrow is the last day to turn in your Candidate Information Sheet for the Trustee Area 4 opening on the Sylvan Union School District Board of Trustees.
