"Maker education offers an approach to teaching and learning that attends to the real and relevant needs of learners and humans; how will we use it to center the creativity, imagination, joy, inherent ingenuity, and excellence of Black youth?"

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Kenya, KDI has been distributing essential supplies to families in Kibera. Alongside local partners, we recently distribut...ed Care Kits to 193 of the families with whom we have worked over the past 14 years. We assembled these kits in direct response to community feedback. As income opportunities dwindle in the midst of the pandemic, many families indicated a need for food. To respond to this need, we filled kits with dry food, including 2kg maize flour, 2kg sugar, and 1kg rice. And, for girls and women, we included a packet of sanitary towels as that, too, was noted as a need for many. Many thanks to (NEXON Foundation Playnovation) and Greenspoon.ke for donating goods and funds to make this possible! If you would like to give to KDI’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund, you can do so here: https://bit.ly/2X1NPYz

"While we work to disrupt and end white supremacy, policing, and prisons, we must also work to disrupt and end patriarchy, sexual violence, ableism, audism, hom...ophobia, and transphobia. We must multitask, humanely ending all forms of violence and oppression. All of our lives depend on it." - @afrolez . . . Due to Covid, this coming election is far different from any before. The voting circumstances illuminate the pros of having a vote-by-mail solution. "VotingWorks is a non-partisan non-profit building a secure, affordable, and simple voting system." See how their system works in the video below.
