HIGH BACTERIA alert on the west side! Beach water quality results from our Blue Water Task Force for the week of 9.13.2020! For more information, visit bwtf.surfrider.org! Next testing date is 9.20. The county water quality department has been notified of the unusually high bacteria counts on the West side locations, and BWTF will try and perform more testing mid-week! ~~~ What do we test for? We use the Idexx system to test for fecal indicator bacteria called enterococcus. ...We compare our results to the standards set by the California State Water Resources Control Board to provide you with a straightforward snapshot of what our beaches look like each week. Beach water quality results from our Blue Water Task Force for the week of 9.6.2020! For more information, visit bwtf.surfrider.org! Next testing date is 9.13! ~~~ We are currently seeking out a volunteer to collect samples, weekly, from East Cliff! The Hook, 38th, and Pleasure Point. We are stoked to be long-time members of the Cowell’s Working Group, where Save The Waves and City of Santa Cruz have led the way to a cleaner Cowells. We are forever grateful for the ongoing hard work of our Blue Water Task Force Volunteers out there sampling water at our beaches every weekend, to ensure that we can make the safest decisions....
