Congratulations to SASC player and referee Kutay! He was recently named State Male Youth Referee Of The Year and was just named West Region Male Youth Referee of the Year for the area encompassing Alaska to New Mexico! Kutay has continually challenged himself to higher levels, regularly ref'ing players older than himself and participating in may referee educational opportunities. As a goalie on our 03B Red team too his commitment to the game is fantastic! Congrats!

Dear SASC families Like so many in our community I am horrified and frustrated by what we see and hear of the experiences of the black community. Whether we experience injustice personally or not, we want change, so that our society is just for all. I encourage each member of SASC to work for improvement, in whatever way you are comfortable. One of the four pillars of SASC stands for Community. We believe our role is to serve as role-models on and off the field. We believe ...in our outreach programs to provide opportunities for everyone. That means taking a stand and being seen in order to help the progress of social justice and reform. I'll be at the Sunnyvale March today, Friday June 5th, 5 pm, in my SASC gear to show support, along with the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, and so many members of our community. Please consider joining me. This is a community and student organized march, you can find more information and details on their Facebook event page below. When we say that sports develop character and leadership we mean it. Our actions and intentions are important and apathy is not an option. Spring Referee Grassroots Training Classes Interested in becoming a referee? SASC parents and players are welcome to participate in one of the upcoming Grassroots Entry Level Referee training classes. Minimum signup age is 13 years old... - Participants 18+ must first complete a background check, and can take up to 5 days to process - The course material is presented online (approx. 7-9 hours) - This concludes with an online test that must be passed before proceeding to the field training below. Course fee is $75 - Participants complete their training by attending a 3-hour on-field instruction session at the Sunnyvale Soccer Complex on Dunford. This requires an additional $15 fee paid to the hosting facility Three on-field training instruction sessions are available: Friday, March 20th, 4:30-7:30pm Friday, April 10th, 4:30-7:30pm Friday, May 1st, 4:30-7:30pm Go to http://www.sunnyvalesoccer.org for details.

SASC Winter Training begins Tomorrow - Jan 8th! Players of all ages and abilities can train as often as you want at this winter. Training will focus on technical mechanics, speed of play, transitional play, rhythm changes, attacking choreography, defensive tactics, small sided games, fitness as well as other key concepts. Congratulations to SASC alum Jeremy Zielinski! Jeremy is a goalie for Hawaii Pacific University, he started playing soccer in our rec program at age 4, played all his youth soccer with SASC and hasn't stopped since!

The Power of Pink! SASC is sporting pink this October for Breast Cancer awareness month. Thank you Julie for organizing this important Pink Out fundraiser. Looking forward to seeing more pink on the fields.

A big thank you to all our Medina volunteers! It really does take a village to make it happen. It's not just a tournament, but a way for all of us to connect and help one another. Special kudos and thanks to Sandra Todd for her planning and hard work on Medina.

Congratulations to our 2010 Boys White team, which went undefeated to win the top bracket in the 2019 Sunnyvale Alliance Medina Fall Classic! We are so proud of all our teams that competed this year, and showed how hard work and focus leads to growth. Keep it up! Also a big thanks to the parents, volunteers and other teams that made this it another successful year for this great tournament! We can't do any of this without you - our amazing soccer community.

Fall Rec soccer is in full swing! Thanks to all the volunteer coaches, parents, kids, and refs for making it happen. A special call out to Stephen, our rec director, Coach Andrew and to our behind the scenes coordinators, scheduler, registrar, and field volunteers.

Proud to have been hosting former SASC Coach, Ben Graham, now Associate Head Coach at Holy Cross University and his D1 team from Massachusetts. They have been training at SSC for their season kick off match at Santa Clara University! Good luck to both sides tomorrow!
