Cory Cooper Hansen was the guest on our most recent Sunbelt Spotlight, which is now available to view. After being treated to a reading of her book, "Coyote Claus," Cory and Diana Lindsay have a wonderful discussion on the importance of reading to children and how to incorporate reading into a child's life. "Coyote Claus" is an original manuscript that brings the cultural heritage of the Sonoran Desert to life through the familiar poem by Clement C. Moore, "A Visit from St. Nicholas." Through this rollicking holiday adventure, readers discover the uniqueness of the Southwestern United States. Each page features non-fiction facts to help deepen the reader’s knowledge of the Southwest by connecting the story of the poem to factual information about the area.

"Coloring Southern California Butterflies & Caterpillars" by Bill Howell is the newest title in the Color & Learn series. Some of the southern California butterflies featured in the book, like the Painted Lady, have a worldwide range, while others, like the Hermes Copper, fly basically only in one county. The Hermes Copper is the book's cover species and lives mainly in San Diego County with a few to the scattered strays to the north and south.
