"Coloring Southern California Butterflies & Caterpillars" by Bill Howell is the newest title in the Color & Learn series. Some of the southern California butterflies featured in the book, like the Painted Lady, have a worldwide range, while others, like the Hermes Copper, fly basically only in one county. The Hermes Copper is the book's cover species and lives mainly in San Diego County with a few to the scattered strays to the north and south.

On our last Sunbelt Spotlight, Daniel Cartamil, shark research biologist and author, took us on journey through the wild and beautiful Baja California. His incredible photography was collected into the book "Baja’s Wild Side: A Photographic Journey Through Baja California’s Pacific Coast Region."
