Heads up Google Business Scammer . A client emailed me this morning after his assistant answered a call from someone identifying herself as Kaia but not stating where she was calling from. Phone number was local: (323) 419-4972. Scammer told assistant that their Google account may not be accessible to them anymore and wanted to know if they still had access to their Google account as a business owner. When my client told his assistant to transfer the call to him, the scamme...r hung up. Scammers can spoof caller ID to match the first six digits of your phone number your area code and your local exchange to make the call look like it is coming from a local business or even a friend or neighbor. Google will NOT call you about your Google Business account unless you have asked them to get in touch with you. They will email you, or they will talk to the marketing person who handles your Google Business account for you. See more
