When the world seems too much, watching clouds sift through forest can bring us back to Earth. This view from our Meadow Trail head gave our visitors and staff a bit of peace on a day when it was very much needed.
Fire adapted plants of all sorts are shooting up at Sugarloaf and iNaturalist users like "dogperson" are helping Sonoma Ecology Center discover and document them. Congratulations, "dogperson" please identify yourself at the Visitor Center to claim your prize. Our third weekly challenge is to document three living fungi in burned portions of the park by Sunday, January 10th. Photo credit: dogperson via iNaturalist
SEC is using iNaturalist to track the biodiversity and ecology of Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Certified California Naturalist Hannah Aclufi uploaded our 10,000th iNaturalist Observation on New Year's Day, a tough little manzanita on Grey Pine Trail. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/67433411
