SAFETY FIRST! is our new "slogan" around here. To date, St. Paul's has hosted seven COVID-19 vaccination clinics for our staff and residents, and we continue to provide routine testing to ensure the safety of our communities and programs. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up to put SAFETY FIRST!

Tomorrow is the Virtual Walk4Alz in support of Alzheimer's San Diego. Normally, we'd be gathering our staff together to participate in a beautiful walk through Balboa Park for their yearly event. Instead, we are encouraging our staff and the community to join in on their virtual event on Saturday with their families in support of Alzheimer's research here in San Diego. For more information, click here: https://www.alzsd.org/walk4alzhome/ Good luck to all of those walking tomorrow! #ALZSTRONG

Today is #GlobalHandwashingDay - an advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. Now more than ever, handwashing is critical. We'd like to remind you to regularly wash your hands to keep yourself, your family, friends, loved ones, and vulnerable populations like seniors safe!

Happy 55th Anniversary to Ray and Valerie! While celebrating amidst a pandemic was not what they had in mind for their big anniversary, they made the best of it with a little help from our Activity Directors. Ray is a resident at St. Paul's Manor who would visit with his wife regularly and enjoy activities with her before COVID-19, but the current situation has only allowed him to see his wife when there are outdoor, socially-distanced activities happening. Val lives next doo...r at St. Paul’s Senior Services Nursing and Rehabilitation, and we knew we had to help make this anniversary special for them, despite the circumstances. We set up a delicious, romantic dinner for the two outside on our patio at a table separated by a plexiglass partition so that they could safely enjoy a wonderful night together. Music was provided above on a balcony by a friend and fellow Manor resident while the two enjoyed their meal, looked over their wedding album photos, laughed, reminisced over fond memories together, and had a wonderful evening. Even a pandemic can't stop love! See more

We are so grateful for people in the community who bring smiles to the face of our seniors, even if it’s just small acts of kindness like making cards.

September is #NationalPACEMonth, which is an annual opportunity to celebrate the work of PACE staff and increase awareness of the benefits of the PACE program and all that it provides to seniors. Our PACE staff always works hard and is dedicated to serving our participants. Still, more than ever, they have stepped up, and shown diligence, determination, dedication, and have been exceptional throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. They have been flexible and have jumped right in as we've adjusted the way we run our program, and as we've implemented several new tactics and services to support our seniors. In honor of them, we created this video. We appreciate you, St. Paul's PACE team! @CalPACE National PACE Association
