Winter is traditionally a time of rest and preparation for us on the farm, tending the orchards and planning our seasonal gardens, closed to guests but looking forward to welcoming our friends next season. You might not think of this as a time for planting, but these bulbs are being hidden in the ground now to later frame a colorful and welcoming entry to the kitchen garden.
